First, there are various types of High blood pressure medications, and they are used for various reasons. Lisinopril is an "ACE" inhibitor.
I take Verapamil, and it is a "Calcium Channel Blocker" used for patients with Arrhythmia like I have.
You need to find out from your doctor which type of high blood pressure medication you need to take as there are one or two more categories besides "ACE" Inhibitors and "Calcium Channel Blockers."
Every person is different in how they will react to various medications; however, a very common side effect of high blood pressure medication is Dizziness.
From what I have read BUSPIRONE can also cause Dizziness so taking the two together will increase the dizziness.
Here on this site, there is a DRUG INTERACTION site where you can put in the name of the drugs, and it will tell you the various interactions and whether the interactions are "Low," "Medium," "High," or "DO NOT TAKE TOGETHER."
It also gives you the patient's version and the doctor's (Professionals) version of the interactions.
Once you have found out which CATEGORY of high blood pressure medication you need to take you can ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend several different names so you can research the interactions between them and buspirone.
I have found the pharmacist at my pharmacy to be extremely helpful for these types of things as they have to know their chemistry too whereas doctors not so much.
I know from the experiences my husband has had taking lisinopril for over 10 years, it's not the best high blood pressure medication on the market, however, it's one of the most prescribed by doctors. If you can take something other than lisinopril, I highly recommend it. Lisinopril has way to many side effects that last for a long time.
I wish you the best in finding something that has the least amount of interactions with buspirone.

I noticed someone mentioned propranolol. This is a "beta blocker," which is another category of high blood pressure medication. Many people will recommend or tell you what they are taking; however, you need to speak with your original doctor who prescribed you the lisinopril and ask him/her which category of high blood pressure medication you need to take. Please be very cautious taking high blood pressure medication as I said above there are various categories of high blood pressure medications and they are all used for different reasons. Only your doctor knows your medical history and which category of high blood pressure medication you should take. Blessings.
Hi, Rodney!
This link will describe the slight chance of low pressure symptoms if you take the lisinopril:

There are quite a few drugs that treat hypertension and the one that's best is the one that works most effectively for you. Every person may react differently so it's a little trial-and-error.
If you have the names of different drugs you can use the Interactions Checker to find one that maybe has no interactions:

I’ve had great luck with low dose propranolol. I take 45mg a day of Buspirone and 20mg a day of propranolol. I’ve been fortunate with that combo. I’ve never had high BP, but started getting borderline a few years ago, it turned out it was mostly anxiety in the clinic. Propranolol works great for the physical symptoms of anxiety, rapid heart beat, sweating, trembling. I’ve found the two medications have both worked well for me. 20mg is a very low dose of propranolol. We are all different, but I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
