You would want to take 25-50 mg of benadryl. Childrens liquid benadryl has 12.5 mgs / teaspoon. Therefore you would take 2-4 tsps

Actually, Children's Benadryl (liquid) contains 6.25 mg of antihistamine per tsp, not 12.5.
Adult Benadryl (liquid) contains 12.5 mg per tsp. Dose would be 2-4 tsp for 25-50 mg.
An adult would have to take 4 - 8 tsp of Children's to get 25 - 50 mg. (adult dose)

This is why it is important to look at the labeling information. I am holding a bottle of Childrens Benadryl and its dosage is 12.5 per 5ml.
