Last month I was diagnosed with adhd/add I had signs of it all my life but with my new job I decided to get treaded finally last month and was prescribed adderall Xr 20 for my first script it works great but doesn't last all day like I need it to I work about 15 hrs a day and the adderall only last around 8hrs I read about some people taking a xr dose in the morning then a Ir later in the day when they start to feel the crash would this be the best option? Or will a higher does of Xr like xr 30 do the trick ??? And how do I go about telling the dr this ???
Adderall Xr 20mg doesn't last as long as I need it to what should I do??

Just ask him. What your talking about is EXTREMELY common for Add'ers with their adderall..its a blend, its about finding the right amount-if thats a combo of XR and IR, so be it. Hopefully he's experienced with ADD to know that you might have to play around to find the sweet spot.
I take 1 in the morning and 1 again at lunch, it seems to do the trick. JusT explain to doc what you feel, & ask if you can split your dose. I personally do not feel that the extended release is as strong as the regular Adderall, but my Dr. seems to think they are the best, & they do kind of last longer. I'm sure the generic factor plays in there as well. Some generics just don't compare to name brand, that is my opinion.
Thanks for your answer do you think if I ask him to raise the mg it will last longer though ? like I said the 20mg seems to work but it's just not long enough. Maybe 20mg isn't strong enough for me I like the fact of only taking it once a day but maybe the Ir will be better for me or like you said splitting it
It may last longer, but you also might need the IR too
That's a myth, generic brands of medicine have the same effects as any name brand drug. It literally has the same exact ingredients in it just no big brand. All you get with a brand is the false comfort and less money in your wallet.
No, it's not a myth. Some generic brands do work MUCH better than other generics. Some give you a very dirty feeling (core pharmacy) while others give you a very clean feeling (Barr pharmacy) google search it sometime!
