You can probably take it with results by 10 pm-10:30 pm, but it depends on how long you've been on Adderall IR and your total daily dosage.
I've done this many times; however, I normally would try to use only either Unisom/OTC sleep aid or Melatonin-rarely both at the same time.
If Melatonin by itself is not working for you, it might be a good idea to call your doctor to ask about a prescription sleep med safe for long term use such as Lunesta (which also has a rapid onset of action).

Thank you so much for your response! So you would suggest taking only the OTC sleep aid and not combine it with the Melatonin? Good to know!
