Abilify (Aripiprazole) does affect the metabolism and in some people it does cause weight gain and increased appetite, these being common side effects of this antipsychotic.

Very common (10% or more): Increased weight (up to 20%)
Common (1% to 10%): Anorexia, blood insulin increased, decreased appetite, diabetes mellitus, increased appetite, weight decreased, weight loss of at least 7%
