Hi, Angie!
Some of what you describe is somewhat "normal" as Abilify can be very energizing for some users. Insomnia, disturbed sleep patterns, agitation, and restlessness are quite common and generally resolve over a few days to a week or two. The talking nonsense may be a confusional state or disorientation which is more uncommon.
All that being said, to answer your question you absolutely should report any and all side effects to his doctor for professional advice even if they seem minor. It's very important for the doctor to monitor him during this time.
Best regards and I hope he's feeling better quickly.
