Hi, Anastasia!
Your doctor will most likely start you on a low initial dose of 2mg (if not, request it) which could help your system adjust to the medication with less chance of bad side effects. Also, Abilify is a newer drug and is considered to have fewer side effects than the older first generation meds.
The most common are headache , insomnia, or in some cases sedation. Side effects will very often subside over days to a week or so
Just stay in touch with your doctor during this initial period and report any side effects you might have,,, they can usually be managed with professional advice.
Personally, I took Abilify for years and it worked very well for me with only a minor headache the first few days.
Best regards and I hope you do well and feel better quickly.
Thank you Wildcat. Thank you for taking the time to reply and will take on board you’re advice. Thanks. Yes I’ll stay in touch with Dr once/if I try them (still considering) Hoping to feel more motivated. Less up and down and calmer. Again thanks! I’ll post an update!
