For Bowel Preparation "can I just say, these horror stories got me so worked up I was dreading this prep, the reality is its NOT THAT BAD!!!. Ok so the drink isn't great, like a salty lemonade ( I find the cranberry powder things disgusting too but if I've got a water infections I drink it!). I found the 1st litre easier to drink than the 2nd,with the 1st one I used a whisky size tumbler and drank it through a straw at room temperature. I drank it all within half an hour and it started working within the hour. The 2nd litre took longer,I used a bigger glass and filled it with ice, I found it harder to drink cold and the larger glass never seemed to empty so you feel like your going forever! Don't be put off by the scary stories!"

For Bowel Preparation "It doesn’t have a nice taste - the first couple of glasses it’s ok, then it becomes disgusting . I’m not sure exactly what it is that makes it so , but I found it tolerable if I quickly sipped some Lucozade after chugging a couple of mouthfuls. After the first dose I felt bloated with water, some mild cramping, tummy ache. Started first dose at 5pm and finished by 7pm. So I had an hour rest in between and drank some Apple juice. Lots bubbles in my tummy . Started second dose at 8pm, started pooping at 08:41pm. It’s so gross, water coming out your butthole is just not right, but needs must. It’s now 23:35 and a bowel movement still occurs now and then . I was really worried about this prep but all in all it’s not too bad at all. Is it pleasant ? No. But I don’t feel sick , cramps were mild and short, the bowel movements are not explosive. It’s been gentle on my system . I put Vaseline outside and inside my posterior and I’m not sore. Good luck !"

For Bowel Preparation "Drink MoviPrep chilled and through a straw. The taste is a salty lemon vile awful thick sludge. Use a chaser of ginger ale or white Gatorade. It’s easier to just chug through a straw Do not. I repeat do not go far from bathroom once you start drinking. It started working within 15 min and I had fasted for 26 hours already. And low fiber before that. I got chills. Nausea. Gagging from the drink and the taste The chills lasted three hours The bathroom trips lasted for 4 hours or more but slowed down. You cannot control it. The urge comes. Or sometimes does not come. It just happens. Then. It’s time for the second dose. I could barely get through second one and I’m more nauseated even after a prescribed anti nausea pill I had on hand from previous issue."

For Bowel Preparation "After 2 days on a low fibre diet, on the 3rd day I mixed this with a small amount of orange squash in the afternoon and kept it in the fridge to chill. I began to drink it a 5pm through a straw, the taste is okay around 7.20pm after drinking water it began to work and boy what a result It felt like a flush of water coming out the other end this lasted until 10.30pm and I went to bed at 11pm no problems slept all night. I had the colonoscopy with gas and air at times it did hurt but keep puffing the gas and air and in no time it was over. Bowel normal thankfully. You will not be allowed to eat after 9am the day before the morning procedure but drink lucozade it fills you up so you don't feel hungry. Moviprep fills you up to it was quite a struggle to keep drinking it all."

For Bowel Preparation "Pros: Cleans out colon well without pain, cramping. Cons: Cost, taste Best colonoscopy prep I've ever taken. The taste isn't great but then what prep is? Follow the tips others have posted and drinking the Moviprep will be easier. I'd use this again."

For Bowel Preparation "Prep for colonoscopy: 1st attempt was in May 2014 and was an epic fail, volume of liquid was too much, gave me horrible heartburn, threw up 75% of the stuff. However, what did get through worked, but 25% not nearly enough for a complete cleaning. Attempt 2. Dr switched to a 2 day prep using MoviPrep. MoviPrep, to me, has a horrible taste. Thankfully the volume is a bit less. I just completed my first 32 oz. (first 16 oz completed in 20 mins, 2nd 16 oz, 90 mins...ugh). Next dose 6pm. Use a Lipton tea bag in prep and it helps to cut bad taste. Heating pad on abdomen helps too. No movement yet 3.5 hrs in. "

For Bowel Preparation "Medicine is disgusting though it defiantly works. Be prepared to stay at home very close to the toilet. It worked with me within 40 minutes. Have sudocream to hand as your derrière will get sore and very red and tender. Good luck if you need to take this medication. My sympathy is with you. God bless."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my 2nd colonoscopy, and this time I prescribed MoviPrep. The taste was the worst part, even though I drank through a straw. I would brush my teeth each drink due to the after taste. Aside from the taste, it worked well. It started working in about 35 minutes. I had to do a split dosage, 1/2 the night before, and 1/2 the morning of colonoscopy. I ate a low residue diet the day before and I believed that helped so there was not so much output. I think some people think they should eat a lot the day before, but that just makes the prep last longer. "

For Bowel Preparation "Before trying MoviPrep, I initially bought a different laxative that came in a 4L antifreeze-looking bottle. Once I got home and looked at the bottle I was terrified at having to drink 4 liters of the stuff. After further research I found moviprep and was relieved that it was only half that volume. I expected it to taste much worse. It was fairly easy to drink at the start. By the last few glasses, it definitely got a little harder to drink but it was certainly tolerable."

For Bowel Preparation "Not bad. forgot the crystal light, and after i started 2nd dose (and it was clearly working by then), i went to a close store to look for it because i was gagging on the taste! No luck. Use a straw and dont breath in when drining if this is you! Almost skipped the 2nd dose because the nurse said 2nd dose in the am. Thankfully i looked at the paper for prep and it said 1st@6p & 2nd @ 8p both night b4. Saw this at 9:30p so i think I am good. I did notice most of you are further apart on dosing. Hope all good. It is amost clear tho...some yellow, but it may be the lemon jello i had for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. No side effects but im 42..not sure if that makes a diff:)."

For Bowel Preparation "Procedure scheduled for 6.30am. Clear liquids only for prior 36 hours, nothing by mouth except for bowel prep after midnight. Started at 6pm as prescribed and took first half of the prep at 15 minute intervals over one hour. The taste is vile, sweet-salty with chemical feel and the consistency thick, almost like vegetable oil. I was able to take it fairly easily, followed by water as prescribed. Four hours later the bowel motions began, Second round began at midnight, had to gag it down but able to finish dose. Results good, clear pale yellow at the end. Severe hunger headache and malaise throughout. 12 hrs after procedure still have rumbling bowels."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm having to use MoviPrep for the 1st time today, in readiness for Endoscopic examination of my complete digestive system, in the hope of getting a diagnosis of why I became badly Iron deficient. I followed the instructions as were given to me by the hospital. 1st does at 17:00 hrs, and the 2nd at 20:00. Things have started to work, going straight to the watery stool stage as warned. The taste isn't too unpleasant, just a bit salty, I didn't find the need to chill it as some suggest."

For Bowel Preparation "For me Moviprep was not nearly as awful as some reviews predicted. My overriding concern was that I needed to leave the house at 6.50am and travel by public transport for an 8.30am appointment. Instructions were for 1st dose on the previous day at 5pm, 2nd dose on the day of the appointment at 5am, with the footnote that stated 'if your appointment is at 9am you may wish to do this a little earlier (do not take before 3am).' I took the 1st dose at 4pm - these results led me to take the 2nd dose at 3.30am - i was just about ok to leave by 6.50! I made it up in a big jug and chilled it, just before taking I shared it out into 4 glasses and just drank one as quickly as possible every 10-15mins followed by a large glass of water. Not pleasant, but i just accepted that I needed to do it. I did wonder what was meant by 'sipping it slowly' I couldn't do this and it didn't appear a problem."

For Bowel Preparation "Followed the instructions to the latter and it did not work. I did not have a bowel movement until 11 hours after the first dose. My doctor had to abort the colonoscopy. We are going to use a different prep next time. MoviPrep really tastes horrible also. It took three days for MoviPrep to clear out of my system and for me to have a solid bowel movement."

Haven't been to the loo as of yet. Okay wait a minute... Better go now. Yea the river is flowing. No cramps though. This stuff is no joke. I hope this isn't too graphic. The taste was horrendous, very salty."

I don't know if I had a newer formulation or something but I had no problems with the taste - tasted like Gatorade or some electrolyte drink to me. Started working within 40 mins. For Bowel Preparation "After reading reviews I worked myself up into thinking it would be a horrible experience. To my surprise, the prep wasn't bad at all. I drank the first liter around 6pm the night before my colonoscopy, my stomach was making many noises but I had no discomfort which I had feared because my stomach is VERY easily upset (why I was getting the procedure). It took about 3 hours for me to use the restroom and I only went about 5 times that night. I started my morning dose 5 hours before my appointment since the surgical center was a long drive away. The second dose worked within 30 minutes of drinking and flushed me out more than the first, but again no discomfort and I didn't have to make any bathroom stops on the way. If this is your first colonoscopy, I would highly recommend getting wetwipes and diaper ointment and using it before starting the prep and eating light the day before and day you start drinking the prep. Don't let the reviews scare you like I did!!"

For Bowel Preparation "I did not think it tasted that bad and had no problems after drinking it. I took my 1st dose at 3PM (2 hours before My Dr.'s recommendation) and I'm glad I did because I still had a bowel movement as late as 11:30PM. My bowel movements became clear and yellowish after just a few times. I debated even taking the 2nd dose, but I did so at midnight instead of 5AM from what I learned of the 1st dose that it took a long time to eliminate it from my GI tract. Also, I drank 2/3 of the 2nd dose within 5 minutes and threw out the rest. I didn't want to have a bowel movement during the examination. While changing into a hospital gown in the bathroom at the hospital just after 9AM I had a small bowel movement. (By the way, tie the gown before you put it on - it is much easier than doing it when you have it on. I finally figured this out on my own. How come no nurse ever told me this?). Here's what my Dr. wrote about the prep: "The quality of the preparation was good. The views were good.""

For Bowel Preparation "Dear God! I am in the midst of taking this product, and while I have read EVERY online forum to get helpful hints and tips on how to make this palatable, I am here to tell you they lied! I am only on my third overall glass and just looking at it makes me want to be sick. I made it cold, added Crystal Light powder, and am trading each sip with a swig of Ginger Ale. Despite all of my valiant efforts this stuff is nasty. At this point I am invested. All I can say is, it better do its job! I should not be suffering through this at 30! Bring on the excavation."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 50 ; never had a colonoscopy. Yes, not smart. But needed one now. MoviPrep Spit-dose was surprisingly expensive. Heard lots of negatives re: the prep procedure so, I researched and thanks to this website, found some good suggestions to get through the 'gross time'. Mixed it with cool water directly from the faucet and left it on the counter while I drank the first obligatory 4 8-oz glasses-15min apart within 1-hr. Prep had salty/citrus taste--not good. I used 2 straws, took big gulps and after each gulp, drank a mouthful of clear liq (Snapple) to get rid of taste. Then drank 16 oz. clear liq. Prep worked quickly-within 2 hrs. Woke up 4 a.m. next day; got through 3 glasses of Prep; couldn't drink more. But all was clear for test."
