For Bowel Preparation "Started tonight with the first dose. I’m not good with liquid medicines at the best of times but this stuff is horrid. The taste I can cope with it’s the texture and how it feels in your mouth. Only managed 50% before giving up as it made me vomit so I didn’t know which end to point at the loo. Will try again in morning and add more water to the mix to see if that helps. Can you design a pill version please."

For Bowel Preparation "Taste: Citrus and Fruit Loops with a bit of viscosity to it. I prepped my first dose this morning to let it chill in the fridge. I don’t think having this warm would be fun. I have just taken my first dose of two (one at 6PM and the next at 4AM). The taste was not bad at all. The amount of fluid was a bit tough, since I’ve been on the liquid diet today in prep for the colonoscopy tomorrow. It’s definitely working it’s magic. My first bowel movement was at 705PM. A second followed maybe at 725PM. I’m sure more will follow. Anyhow, I’m posting this review because of all the horror stories I’ve heard of surrounding colonoscopy prep. From what I can see, there is nothing to fear."

For Bowel Preparation "Not bad at all. I really worked myself up with worry over taking a new prep for my 2 colonoscopy. The taste was not wonderful (I gag very easily) but I was able to finish the product. I ate very light for two days before my 'prep day' which I believe really helped the clean out process go much faster. Started my first dose at 6 pm and I was on and off the potty until about 9:30 or so. Second dose started earlier about 6:00 am the day of procedure and I finished at about 11:30. My appt was schedule if 1:30 but I was told to arrive an he earlier. Had no cramping or any side affects during the preparation time. By far this was the easiest preparation for my colonoscopy."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm doing MoviPrep for a colonoscopy and drank 80% between 5pm-7.30pm really really struggled to keep it down and keep drinking. At first it seemed like a nicer lemsip, but the more you drink the worse it gets, its very salty and artificially sweet (which I hate). its 9pm and just starting the second litre. So far a lot of pain and rumbles but no bowel movements."

For Bowel Preparation "My appointment was at 4pm so I started the first packet around 7pm the day before. It was bearable but not the best taste. By the end of the first litre I had really had enough and felt quite sick. I didn't even get through the last bit before I needed the toilet. After the first half hour of bowel movements, I had serious cramps in my stomach and doubled over in pain. This lasted for around an hour, then trips to the toilet started again, which almost instantly stopped the cramps. I was awake most of the night due to going to the toilet. I have now started the 2nd dose at 7am. Just want this all over now. Really hope I don't get more cramps."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m a very nervous patient, and I was dreading the bowel prep after reading other reports here, but it’s been fine so far, comparatively speaking. Prescribed split dose - started at 7pm, finished first litre at 830pm and the action has just started at 845pm. Chilled after mixing, then took it in four stages about 25 minutes apart. Using a straw a good idea, as is a chaser (apple lucozade worked pretty well) but I didn’t find the taste anything like as bad as expected - sweet and intense lemon flavour, little salty. Slightly thicker than normal water but not disgusting. Some gurglings after an hour, and mild cramps, but no nausea or chills, and no sudden rush to loo - I knew it was coming! No explosions either - just a steady dribble every 10 minutes or so. I stayed off solids for 36 hours before and followed dietary instructions carefully two days before that - which may have helped. Nothing to fear, I’d say. We’ll see what happens with the second litre in the morning...good luck all."

For Bowel Preparation "I started with the mixed solution, (Moviprep Orange) 1 litre, at seven in the evening. I allowed one and a half hours to drink the product. It was roughly an hour after finishing the drink that I passed my first motion. The overall process between starting the drink and the complete emptying of my bowel amounted to around three and a half hours. My second dose was started at 6am the next morning. I drank the litre within an hour. The first movement this time was much quicker. within half an hour. My bowel was completely empty at around 8-40. So this process was 2 hours and forty minutes. I found the drink quite palatable. Certainly not difficult to drink. This is the second occasion I have used it and on both occasions my bowel has been cleaned well and perfectly prepared for the examination. I had no side effects whatsoever."

For Bowel Preparation "Okay so today I used MoviPrep Lemon flavoured and I am someone who can not deal with bad tasting things and this really hit that bad tasting spot. I am honestly so nauseous from it and feel like I’m going to throw up more than go to the bathroom."

For Bowel Preparation "I could not tolerate the MoviPrep. Pure torture. It took me two hours (instead of one) to complete the first dose. Gave me nausea and could not stand the taste. I had to drink the second dose so slowly to avoid throwing up -- just tiny sips -- that I probably only got down about a 1/4 cup instead of one liter. However, doctor said I was cleaned out, so it ended up ok. For my first colonoscopy, I had a similar problem (I don't remember what the Rx was), and I made the mistake of telling the office that I had not completed the dose (even though I thought I was pretty cleaned out), and after all that torture, they cancelled the colonoscopy, so it was all for naught. That's why I didn't tell them this time (but they didn't ask, thank goodness)."

For Bowel Preparation "Preps are not hard to do or scary. Not my first prep. I find just drinking it quickly was the best way followed by a swig of Gatorade or ginger ale to kill any salty after taste. To protect from getting sore from wiping so may times I use a little hemorrhoid cream down there and it works great protecting me from all that dry toilet paper. (Just make sure you use the cream BEFORE you get sore down there!) Patting with TP instead of wiping also helps if you would get sore. Good luck!"

For Bowel Preparation "Ok folks this is really not a problem. Seriously. I absolutely dreaded it but it I would do it again tomorrow if I had to. It does taste like very salty Gatorade and drinking a whole liter in an hour wasn't easy, but it wasn't horrible. The "emptying" came on about 20 minutes in and lasted just shy of 2 hours. It was rather urgent, but completely manageable. Same for the next day's treatment. Let's just say it's a good idea to stay close to the bathroom. I drank a bit more water afterwards on the second day and I think it worked even better, so drink your chaser water! Nothing to fear here, move along."

For Bowel Preparation "I had to use this before my colonoscopy and after hearing about it and reading I had really worked myself up but I didn’t need to it was no problem at all. I took the first Moviprep dose at 5pm and started on the loo at 6 I just sat there for 90 mins there isn’t much point in getting off the toilet! I was in bed by 8.45 all done. I woke up at 5.30 and started the 2nd dose it began working at 7.15am and was done by 9.15am. I had no stomach cramps or pains and I wasn’t sick. I made it up a few hours beforehand and chilled it. It does get harder to drink the longer you take and took me about 75min to drink the full litre. By the end of the first dose it was just yellow clear water coming out so I wasn’t even sure I needed the second dose but o took it anyway. I do suffer from IBS-D so I’m not sure if that’s why it was easier for me."

For Bowel Preparation "Was given Moviprep prior to a colonoscopy procedure. I took Picolax solution 5 years ago for my last colonoscopy and Moviprep was much gentler. Horrible taste - you can't get away from that. I took sips and drank the first litre over an hour. If you drink it too quickly, I found it made you feel a bit sick. Also sipping orange juice or some other drink to take the taste away helped. HUGE tip I got was to use Vaseline to stop your bottom feeling raw. Worked a treat. Good luck to all who are having a colonoscopy."

For Bowel Preparation "Well, I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon and have been prescribed Movi-Prep for my preparation. I am a terribly nervous patient and I liked to read up about every single little detail on everything. I read every review on this page, on every other website and many others too and I wanted to give my opinion. Its not as bad as everyone says. It really isn't that bad, the packet recommends every 15 minutes 8oz. I managed 12/13oz every 10 minutes and finished the first litre in half an hour, only because I wanted to pace myself. I could have easily done the litre in the space of ten minutes. Currently waiting for the effects to kick in. Im not overly looking forward to the 6AM litre, but I'm not as terrified as I was today"

For Bowel Preparation "Didn't work well for me. I wish I knew why it wasn't until nearly 6 hours after starting to drink the prep and nearly an hour after finishing my second and final litre 'dose' that anything happened (aside from a rather painfully distended belly and lots of grimacing and trying not to gag). I had thought I'd be in bed, finished, by about 11pm, but instead decided to sleep at 3am despite that I wasn't yet clear as it was such slow going. What followed in the morning still wasn't enough, and at the time of my procedure - 16 hours after commencing the prep - the team thankfully proceded despite an "inadequate" prep. Unpleasant for all. I followed the instructions to a T so am not too happy with the result. Not the first time it's worked badly for me, either - maybe my body's just quirky. Also wish it tasted less sickly and cloying."

For Bowel Preparation "Prepare prep in advance adding 1/2 packet lemon crystal light and refrigerate. When time comes to drink, pour into a cup with ice and drink with through a straw. Never had any stomach cramps and actually only went to bathroom a couple of times the night before. The next morning drank the second liter in same manner as before. Still no cramps and went to the bathroom frequently until completely purged. I would highly recommend."

For Bowel Preparation "Worst Prep ever!! Terrible chemical, heavy lemon taste. Took the two litres and water as directed. IT DID NOT WORK.. I have used other preps that worked great. Don't waist you time with this one. Went for colonoscopy, and had to be abandoned, moviprep had failed to work and my colon was full of faeces. All that preperation for nothing, i even went on a liquid diet prior and it still failed. Also REAL BAD SIDE EFFECTS. EXTREME PAIN FOR DAYS AFTERWARD AND STOMACH GURLING. Now got to do all over again with different prep."

For Bowel Preparation "So I've taken MoviPrep Orange and at first its not too bad sort of a salty orange flavour. But then you start to notice the thick gloopy texture and honestly couldn't stop gagging, absolutely foul taste. Took my first litre at 4 pm and at 5:30 pm the movements started. Attempted to take the second litre at 8:30 pm but only managed to get half down. Currently 11:55 pm and still making trips to the bathroom every 15-20 minutes... I'm only a tiny 18 year old girl. Feel so bad. Definitely don't need the full 2 litre dose, but we'll see tomorrow. This is my third bowel prep and I will not be doing it again."

For Bowel Preparation "Had an endoscopy and colonoscopy this morning (26/6/16) and took the movieprep yesterday as part of the process. I actually found it acceptable ( miles better than a barium meal) but was helped I think by these factors which I certainly think would help others. 1) i didnt eat at all the day before I took the movieprep( 2 days before the colonoscopy) 2) I took the movieprep at home in a quiet environment under my own steam 3) i made the movieprep 2 hours before drinking and placed it in the fridge to chill before drinking over the following 2 hours 4) i used a straw to drink the movieprep 5) I heavily flavoured the drink with lime juice Good luck if you go through this process but I found it better than expected"

For Bowel Preparation "50 years old, 1st colonoscopy. I scheduled an 8 am exam. I suggestion you have a 11 am exam. You take the 1st packets of A & B for MoviPrep (MP) around 6 pm that night. I suggest you drink about 12 to 16 ounces of water prior to drinking the MP, otherwise it makes you dizzy. Things will start happening between an half to 2 hours later. I probably had 30 flushes of the toilet before I got to bed around 10:30 pm. Had to wake up at 2:30 am for the 2nd batch. Repeated above, but this time I drank it all in about 30 minutes with another 16 ounces of water just prior. Your BM's will be all liquid, at least 40 flushes before I was finished. The urine was bright yellow, like you took a B vitamin. Good stuff!"

For Gastrointestinal Decontamination "I have taken Moviprep before, the first time for a laparoscopic exam, and I am now taking it again for another laparoscopy to remove endometriosis. The first time, I took Moviprep at the instructed times, first litre at 5pm and second litre at 8-9pm. It was awful! I had to be at the hospital for 6am, and I literally hadn't slept because I was still going the toilet. Thankfully I was still able to have the procedure. This time I took the first litre at 3pm and the second litre at about 6pm, it is nearly 11pm and it hasn't stopped yet, but hopefully I will get more rest than last time. I think it definitely does what it is intended for but the taste is disgusting, it tastes like really salty lemons, much better if you use a straw!"

For Bowel Preparation "I'm having a colonoscopy first thing in the morning and trying my hardest to get down the 1st litre Moviprep... It is vile! Too salty and I'm really struggling to drink this, I've been trying for two hours now and I'm still 1 glass in! There is surely an easier way than this! I've only been to the toilet twice and can see my colonoscopy will more than likely be cancelled. 1 litre is far too much for me to tackle let alone 2 and no thought process had gone into this what so ever, your doctor should fully consult something like this with you and look at different options, I would have been better on tablets and water but as always the NHS care about money and people numbers and not the individual! ......it's going to be a long night! :-("

For Bowel Preparation "My 81 yr old father had to get two colonoscopies in 3 months. For the first one, he used a different prep that required him to drink a gallon of liquid. He had a really hard time with it and didn't finish it. The main advantage of Moviprep was that it is much less liquid. We mixed it up the night before and put it in a refrigerator set low so it would be very cold when he drank it. We also mixed a little lemon-lime Vitamin Water, made him use a straw to drink it, and had him suck on butterscotch candies after each drink and he got through it all pretty easily. I can't rate this a 10, since it still doesn't taste great, but it was much better than the other stuff he had to drink."

For Bowel Preparation "I took Moviprep to help prepare me for a colonoscopy. I was glad to see that it really works because my bowels don't move very often even with a laxative. I started having bowel motions after taking about 3/4 of 1st litter. I was a happy happy camper because Moviprep cleansed my colon out. My tummy feels so much better. I wasn't that happy about the taste. But it wasn't so bad that I couldn't drink it. I just drank it very quickly. It did what it was supposed to do."
