For Urinary Frequency "Had this on 20th November 2019 to help my problem of needing to pee every hour, 24/7, and I now go about 4 times a day and sleep all night, which has not happened in 4 years. I was so tired, but after this, it is a life changer. There was a tiny little sting when the Botox was put in. I will recommend it 100 percent."

For Urinary Incontinence "Please stay well clear of this horrible drug. The hospital never told me the risks, they said, 'You'll be fine, it will help you.' Botox in the bladder is pure torture, regardless of needing it. The reviews speak for themselves, and I wish I had read all these 1-star reviews before I had the procedure done, it's ruined my life and has only been one month. I was advised it would help my condition, it's made my life worse. Anyone reading this, do not have this procedure done regardless of your condition, it will torture you slowly. I can only pray that this horrible drug will wear off in time, every day is a struggle. The healthcare providers haven't the slightest clue, they are meant to help people, not make them worse, and they should have explained the 7 risks, not just said, 'Sign the consent form, you'll be okay.' Stay well clear of Botox, it will make your life hell."

For Urinary Frequency "I would never do this again. Since my injection one month ago, I have had three trips to the ER, two Foley catheters put in, bleeding when I tried to self-catheter, and a physician who seems indifferent to my problem. My life has become an obsession about being able to pee. My QoL has been negatively affected. I should have found this site before I let myself get talked into the procedure. What a mistake."

For Urinary Frequency "I had Botox injected about 4 weeks ago now. I had more of an urge to go post-injection; however, I was unable to empty my bladder. Still, 4 weeks later, I'm pushing to go. I've been to the ER (they drained me with a catheter) and a urologist who say I have a normal amount of urine left, but I don't feel that way. I spent the night in pain and days pushing to go. Also constipated for almost three weeks, no matter how many laxatives I take. Can't wait for it to wear off. I'm 26 and miserable. Wish I never did it."

For Urinary Frequency "I had the procedure for my bladder with Botox on December 14, 2016. It has been the most horrible experience in my life. The doctor never told me about the possible consequences of it. I will never recommend it, EVER! It's been almost three months and I still have problems."

For Cervical Dystonia "Getting injections for 15 years with great relief. The key to Botox injections is that your neurologist uses the EMG (Electromyography) machine in order to find the nerve activity and inject the correct site. I insisted, and the neurologist complied. I get my shots every three months, and the doctor administers 250 to 300 units. I consider the injection pain nothing compared with the pain my neck suffers without them."

For Urinary Frequency "I had a Botox treatment to my bladder for OAB on December 21, 2016. My urologist did not counsel me on the side effects or send me home after the treatment with an antibiotic as directed in the Botox pamphlet. Since that time, I have had two UTIs and still cannot empty my bladder. It is March 7, and I still have to self-cath every four hours. Like someone else wrote, I'm afraid my bladder will never be the same again, and right now it feels like I'll be self-cathing for months. I wish I had never heard of Botox for my bladder!"

For Urinary Frequency "I had Botox for overactive bladder on the 11th of August 2016. I've been very unwell since - flu symptoms, aching body, but above all, my bladder is worse than ever. I am on and off the toilet constantly, experiencing terrible throbbing and a feeling of constantly having a full bladder. I am back in the hospital now, they don't know what's going on, although they are the ones responsible for the procedure! I am at the end of my tether, I wish I had never had this done. No doctor wants to take any sort of blame and they are playing dumb. This is at King George Hospital in Goodmayes, Essex. I've been here for 2 nights, they don't know what to suggest and I have been mucked about for 2 days and nights. I can't sleep as the sensation gets worse when I try to relax. Don't have this procedure done."

For Migraine Prevention "I dumbly took Botox for migraines after not researching the potentially dangerous and fatal side effects. Botox is a dangerous neurotoxin that can cause the symptoms of botulism if it spreads. This is exactly what has happened to me. Side effects included extreme muscle weakness, drooping eyelids, difficulty swallowing and breathing, as well as vertigo, ringing in the ears, and burning and numbness in my arms and legs. Side effects lasted longer than the 3-6 months I was told they would by doctors. Do your research before trying Botox."

For Migraine Prevention "Botox is your last resort, they said. Before Botox, I had 3-4 migraines a week. I didn't like the frequent medicine, but I could usually catch it early and hadn't vomited for years. 32 Botox shots were prescribed at my 1st appointment (kickbacks, anyone?) and 3-4 migraines/week turned to 6-7/week. I managed to avoid sumatriptan for 3 days this month with the help of massive doses of caffeine and pain meds I take for a degenerative, painful condition. Always had neck pain, now it's 10x worse in a cramping spasm nightly and 24/7 pain way. Deafening tinnitus (ears ringing), BP and heart rate up, possibly due to Botox pain levels. I breathe shallowly, catch myself doing it, and bizarro heart flutters and faint/dizzy spells I've never felt at 42 years old. My head has not stopped hurting for a minute since Botox, and they're weird migraines - they feel different from my typical migraine and are much harder to treat. Scalp feels swollen. I'm glad I tried, but my miracle drug, it is not!"

For Migraine Prevention "I had Botox treatments for my migraines for about a year and a half. I was thrilled as it completely took away my migraines and I had no side effects. I had my life back. Then last August I went to get my regular 3-month injections at 4 p.m. By 7 p.m. that evening, I was experiencing dizziness. By the next day, I had a severe headache, neck pain, dizziness, trouble swallowing, pain in my shoulders, etc. It was terrible. My doctor told me he didn't think it was from the Botox, but that I probably caught a virus at the same time I got the shots. Seriously? Here I am, 3 months later, and I can hardly hold up my head. I have headaches, shoulder pain, neck pain, pain, and numbness going down my arms. The dizziness has never gone away."

For Urinary Frequency "I had Botox for bladder on the 15th of August 2016, I got urosepsis the first week and was in resus at A&E, an impatient for one week. Now, nine weeks later, it's a complete nightmare. My bladder holds over 200mls, still in retention, constant UTIs. I couldn't get used to self-catheterization because I was using it every hour and kept piercing my bladder. Now, I'm on an indwelling catheter with constant UTIs, a total nightmare and instant pain wearing the catheter. I am worried I will ever have a normal bladder again and live a normal life. I'm worried that using an indwelling catheter will weaken my muscles even further. I'm sick of taking antibiotics, lost weight through stress, and worry. I suggest that whoever considers this treatment should look at all the risks first and do thorough research."

Started to help a little on 3rd, then wore off after two months. This time, full 200 units, no migraine for over a week so far. That's miraculous!"

For Migraine Prevention "Horrible migraine hours following treatment. Started out like someone hit me in the back of the head with a baseball bat. Then the horrible nonstop headache set in. Ended up at the ER the first day because nothing stopped the pain. Woke up the next day with an excruciating headache. Worse than any of my terrible daily migraines. The neurologist did not call back. Long story short. Went to the ER 2x in 5 days. Neurologist was completely unhelpful and never spoke with me. After the 6th day, I barely made it through work. There is severe cramping in the neck and in between the shoulders. Where the muscles were paralyzed, the other muscles in the area are overcompensating for the 'Botoxed' areas. I WILL NEVER again do Botox. It made a bad situation completely unbearable."

For Urinary Incontinence "I had Botox for my AOB. In the days after, I was going every time I got up. I had a catheter and bag inserted for 5 days, which was very uncomfortable. Constantly going to the bathroom, sometimes more than 20 times per day. Back to the urologist 3 times for bladder scans. The doctor's assistant gave me catheters to use for 2 weeks. It's now 6 plus weeks, and I can't see not using them any time soon. So Botox was a bust. I had no choice but to try it."

For Migraine Prevention "I have had migraines for 31 years beginning after hysterectomy. I average 16 migraine days every month that last from 4 to 72 hours. I've tried every treatment except Depakote, which I refused because of the lasting bad side effects. I had the first of 3 Botox treatments in the last month and had 11 days of migraines. Was hoping for less. My eyelids are droopy, vision blurred in the right eye, and just now am able to raise my eyebrows just a little. I've read that these side effects go away by the time I get the next treatment. If it affects my eyesight every time, and I still have this many migraines, I'm questioning whether to continue treatments."

For Urinary Frequency "I am 33 and have had overactive bladder all of my life. I went through a lot of treatments that didn't work. I now have a normal life thanks to Botox bladder injections. I used to urinate 20-30 times a day. With Botox, I'm normal! My doctor instills lidocaine in my bladder then does the injections via cystoscopy with me awake and unmedicated. I do feel the injections, but it's not terrible, and definitely worth it to me. The first time I was so disappointed that I had more frequency after the procedure than before, but now I know it doesn't take effect immediately. I usually have fatigue about 2-3 days after the procedure and the Botox takes effect in 1-2 weeks. I have had it 5 times, it lasts me about 7 months."

For Migraine Prevention "My wife started having chronic migraines after our 3rd child. We spent 3 years trying 3 classes of migraine medication with almost no benefit. We finally decided to try Botox injections. It had some relief noted after 6 months (1 treatment every 3 months). After 18 months, she went from 12 migraines a month to 1. About 1 year ago, our doctor moved and we tried to go without injections, and they have slowly started back (now 10 per month). She is with a new doctor, and we hope to see the benefit again. Having seen the benefit firsthand, it may not be for everyone, but I have read the studies and it absolutely can have benefits for someone with chronic daily migraines."

For Migraine Prevention "I'm very grateful the FDA approved this! I've suffered with debilitating migraines for 25 years now and have tried every medication prescribed and OTC. Unfortunately, the only thing that would take away the pain are narcotics. Since using Botox treatments, my migraines are under control and down to approximately 4-5 a month compared to 20-25. I feel as though I have a life again and not living hour to hour, not having a life in fear of having a migraine. Also, I'm VERY grateful to have good insurance that pays for this."

For Urinary Frequency "Had Botox at age 68 in July 2015. After 2 days, I had to return to the doctor and have a Foley catheter put in. The doctor said to leave the catheter in for a week and then return to the office. I went back, still retaining, so they put in another Foley catheter. I couldn't do anything with the bag strapped to my leg. This went on for another 10 days. Same thing, still retaining up to 400. A nurse taught me how to self-catheterize. I was using 4 catheters per day and only going a little on my own. Finally, after 6 months at a check-up, I was only retaining about 20. So now I don't have to catheterize anymore. I was a good candidate for the Botox, but it did not work for me. Now I'm back on medication and dealing with OAB (Overactive Bladder) and accidents. This treatment is not suitable for everybody. The side effects are awful."

For Urinary Frequency "I've had an overactive bladder for years and have had several medications with little effect. Then came the suggestion of Botox. My doctor provided me with almost zero counseling on the effects. THEN, just as I was about to be put under, she asked me how much Botox I wanted her to administer. Dah! Should that be my decision? I wish I had never heard of Botox. I had the Botox treatment on July 1, 2016, and it's now Jan. 10, and I have not been able to urinate without a catheter since, which is over 6 months now. Beware, beware."

For Urinary Frequency "Have suffered from leaking all my life, which became so much worse as I passed the menopause. Saw a consultant for years who then said he could not help me. I was devastated. Then saw another who gave me several different tablets to use together, although that wasn't the norm. Then offered me Botox. It worked beautifully straight away. My whole life changed for the better. Had the treatment twice, and then a totally different illness became evident, and I had an operation. Applied to have the Botox again, and I am having it for the third time next week. I'm so pleased. Shame for those it didn't work well for, but for me, it's a life changer."

For Cervical Dystonia "I tried Botox injections in the back of my neck and front left side for cervical dystonia 2 weeks ago today. Total of 16 injections, the pain was something I never want to go through again. I have missed a total of 24 hours at work due to pain and overall difficulties with talking and this weird feeling of my head being pulled back into my neck. Intense piercing pain in the top of my head in the back. I have difficulty lifting with pain in my upper back, shoulders, and neck area. I am getting cramping at the back of my head near the hairline. Difficulty turning my head to the right (making it hard to reverse when driving). My throat is swollen, it is hard to eat. I knew about this as being a side effect. But the rest has been so much of a burden that I would rather have a head that shakes. I can’t see myself going through this process again. To top it all off, my head still is shaking. I am excited for this medication to wear off."
