For Migraine Prevention "Qulipta has been life changing. I used to get roughly 20 migraines per month, but now I might get 1 or 2 max. I also get very few non-migraine headaches now. I used to have them daily. I use a fraction of NSAIDs I used to. When I first started taking Qulipta, I had some nausea for about 2 weeks but not anymore. I have noticed that I don’t overeat as much so I gradually lost 10 of my extra lbs. I am getting much more done day-to-day without the migraines, and do not need to contend with the side effects of all the triptans I used to take. I do not seem to be as sensitive to migraine triggers. Have not noticed any mood changes or constipation (but I still take a daily magnesium supplement and drink a lot of water, so that may help out). It’s a humongous relief to find a preventative that works since the old options gave me such bad side effects and didn’t really work (beta blockers, tricyclics, anti-seizure medications, etc.). I really feel like myself again, after so many decades."

For Migraine Prevention "Qulipta is a game changer, a life saver for me. I have chronic intractable migraines. I've been through so many failed meds and treatments. I've had 25-30 migraines a month for 25 years. I just had 13 days migraine free. Thanks to Qulipta, I have hope for the future."

For Migraine Prevention "Didn’t do anything but make me constipated, fatigued, and depressed. Took it for migraine aura treatment (I get frequent visual auras). Not sure why a CGRP inhibitor would help that subtype of migraine but alas. I was completely constipated for days - literally couldn’t go despite Miralax, prunes, etc. I was extremely fatigued and also dealt with depressive symptoms that aren’t typical for me. Not a pleasant experience. In my opinion the long term safety profile of these drugs should be studied further before they are prescribed en masse. Clearly blocking CGRP has many effects on the body besides just migraine (which didn’t even work for me)."

For Migraine Prevention "This is a miracle drug! I am 51 and have had hormonal migraines since I was pregnant 25 years ago. I first started with Qulipta a year ago, right after it was first approved by the FDA. I was the first patient my neurologist prescribed it too. Lost about 15 lbs over the course of a year and have had maybe 5 migraines total this year. No side effects other than weight loss. No issues getting it with the Qulipta card either. Wonderful results!"

For Migraine Prevention "I've had migraines for 8 years and have been on many pharmaceuticals for prevention and rescue. I started Qulipta 60 mg a month ago and immediately on starting, I had chest pains that went into my back and shoulder. I tried taking a smaller dose, 30 mg and 15 mg and still had the chest/back/shoulder pain. I was also extremely fatigued and my blood pressure shot up. I had a few medical appointments and my blood pressure was 190/80. I visited my GP who is easier to get in to see than my Neuro. She did an exam and an EKG and noted that it was not normal. I have a stress test scheduled for next month. I stopped taking it 2 days ago and the chest pain was instantly reduced by 80%. It's slowly going down the rest of the way. This is not listed as a side effect even though I know a few people who have had this problem. Please be careful with this drug. I never had heart problems before this, and I hope that the damage is not permanent."

For Migraine Prevention "Ease of use: Very easy, if you can swallow pills; Dosage: 60mg tablets once daily. Benefits: None Side effects: Mood altering (made me extremely angry), Constant feeling of Hunger (even after eating), Extreme fatigue (That's saying something because I also have narcolepsy). Provided no relief of the migraines, actually felt worse taking the medications. I felt it was not worth taking Qulipta due to the added side effect and the lack of help it provided. I was told by my doctor that "those aren't known side effects" and to give it another try. I had originally been taking the medication during the day, decided maybe taking it at night might make a difference. I started the medication, at night, the next morning, the fatigue was overwhelming, extremely hungry, and about 2 hrs later I became extremely angry. Contacted the doctor, stopped taking the medication. Since stopping, my mood has regulated back to normal (no longer angry), no hunger pains, Narcolepsy back under control."

For Chronic Migraine "I've suffered from chronic migraines for 25 years, with over 20 pain days a month (15+ migraines and 5+ headaches a month). Most severe enough to require medication. I started Qulipta 2 months ago, and since about 2 weeks into treatment, I haven't had a single migraine or headache that required pain medication. It feels too good to be true, but it's working miracles as of right now."

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve been taking the 60mg pill for about three and a half months and it’s helped prevent migraines from a couple of very common triggers, weather change, odors and flickering lights.it also makes the migraines I get usually much less painful and easier to get rid of, or to stop from starting with fiorocet. It has reduced my appetite but I’m slowly gaining weight and eating less, I have to figure that out. I’ve used Aimovig and Emgality too and this is the best one."

For Migraine Prevention "This medication works amazing to prevent one type of migraine. It will not prevent a migraine that is caused by any other triggers but if you abruptly stop like me I had withdrawal like symptoms because I ran out over the holiday weekend and after 72 hours from my last dose my body didn’t handle it well at all."

For Migraine Prevention "Within 5 hours of one 10 mgs. dose, BP rose to 196/96 and stayed there. One week later and is has not normalized. Qulipta is not BP neutral as stated by manufacturer. Did not stop migraines and caused more headaches due to the rise in BP."

For Migraine Prevention "I have had almost daily migraines since I was 13 years old and I am now 69 years old. I started taking Qulipta 60mg in mid-January 2022. I have not had one migraine since! I have not had any side effects. I have been on every other preventive medication which had weight gain and sleepiness as side effects. They only reduced my headaches to 4 times a week. Triptans didn't help at all to abort a headache. Qulipta is truly a miracle for me."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on Qulipta for migraines for about 4.5 months. (7 year history with constant migraines.) My doc gave me 60mg, but I was incredibly tired and falling asleep. So much so, it was like I was in my 1st trimester of pregnancy again. (Not pregnant now.) I decided to break it in half and only take 30mg daily. The 1st week or two I still had a lot of headaches, but sumatriptan helped. Then the migraines pretty much stopped! I was constipated, but that pretty much has evened out. However, and this is a big one…in the last month to month and a half, I have lost half my hair! (I’m a 43 year-old female with long fine hair as it is and losing half is extremely upsetting to say the least.) Now, I have also been on Bupropion for 14 months and there is a 1% chance of losing hair on that. Also, maybe periomenopause could be kicking in…but to lose that much hair that quickly???! I stopped Quilipta and Bupropion both cold turkey last week to see if my hair will stop falling out or not."

For Migraine Prevention "Qulipta helps with migraines. My other meds stopped working for me. It does not prevent them, but the pain does not last as long while on the medication. My problem is the company makes it almost impossible to get the drug. I got a sample with the savings card. The QR code did not work to activate it, neither did the reacting feature. It does not come with the information for the pharmacy to use. I called Qulipta customer service. It took them an hour to register my card and two weeks before I could get my first presciption from my pharmacy, due to lack of info again by Qulipta. I refilled my second month fine. As soon as I get my second refill Qulipta starts calling me about my savings card. They are making me call them multiple times saying they need more information before they will allow me to use their savings card a third time. It’s $1,200 a month without the card. They don’t leave any details of what information they need. When I try to call back, everyone is clueless as to why."

For Migraine Prevention "Quilipta is my miracle drug. I rarely have migraines & take a Ubrelvy if I do & it’s gone in an hour. I’m on 30mg due to bad nausea with 60mg. I did get migraines again with Covid & Quilipta stopped working for a short time but dr gave me a nerve block (simple in- office few tiny needles) & was back to normal with Quilipta working again. Highly recommend !!! I have my life back!!"

For Migraine Prevention "*I’m on a laundry list of meds for migraines and other chronic health conditions, so take my review with a grain of salt.* Qulipta is great! I have chronic vestibular migraine and started taking Ajovy as a preventative, which lowered my daily pain level but failed to take away my dizziness and vertigo. Adding Qulipta 30mg to my preventative regimen basically fixed my debilitating, disorienting dizziness! One weird and really strong side effect I experienced: For the first ~5 nights after starting a new dose, I had severe insomnia where my head felt extremely clear and I was totally wired, wide awake, and unable to fall asleep. Luckily this faded and wasn’t too unpleasant, but weird!"

For Migraine Prevention "I’ve been on Qulipta 30mg for almost 6 months. It seems to have lessened them some, however they are no help for migraines caused by weather changes and stress. We live in the south and the barometric pressure swings like crazy causing my migraines. I feel like they aren’t as bad as they were, and I have been on every drug made for migraines and seizures. I go back to my neurologist next month and he may up the dosage. I have lost weight because I have no appetite. It hasn’t affected my depression or any other health concern so I’ll stay on it until my doctor does something different."

For Migraine Prevention "I have suffered with migraines for over 20 years with absolutely no relief. I've literally tried almost every med out there and lost hope! Daily constant migraines. I started Qulipta about 6 weeks ago and figured it would fail like the rest. My migraines were reduced by almost 70%! Life changing! I had 11/39 migraines compared to daily! Just to show you never give up hope of finding the right med out there. I’ve tried every single med that has been released … good luck everyone"

For Chronic Migraine "I was able to get a 40-day supply of Qulipta from my PCP. I started taking it while in the middle of a 7-day long migraine. Once that migraine stopped, I stayed migraine-free for over 30 days. I started splitting my 60mg pills on my last 4 pills, but that caused breakthrough migraines. I decided to instead finish the last two days with full pills. Since stopping, I've had daily headaches again and am planning to go to the ER for the migraine 'cocktail'. I am miserable without the medication, but insurance won't cover it. The side effects that I had while on Qulipta included mild constipation and joint pain in my knees. I felt very tired the first few weeks on it, but I started taking it at night and that helped a lot. The joint pain was getting better towards the end of the month, and I think it may have completely resolved with the continuation of taking it. Fiber and mild laxatives helped with the constipation. I am extremely sad that I can't take the medication at this time."

For Migraine Prevention "Started taking Qulipta (60 mgs.)close to a year ago. Initially the only side effect symptom was constipation, but no migraines. After four to five months a few break through migraines. Then stomach pain shooting to back and shoulder, insomnia, anger/agitation, ringing in ears all accelerating to unbearable levels. Stopped taking a few days ago, and my nerve pain has calmed somewhat but stomach pain continues along with persistently loud ringing in ears. I was going to break in half to wean off, but I don’t think my stomach can bear it. It’s ironic in that my migraines usually begin with stomach pain and that the one and only medication that helped is now causing stomach pain along with other symptoms. Usually adverse reactions to medication start at the beginning of use for me not long term so took awhile to realize it was the Qulipta."

For Chronic Migraine "I have had migraines since I was 7 and they run in my family. Now I'm 51 years old and for the first time in my entire life, I have gone 6 weeks without a migraine. Constipation is being managed with MiraLax and I had to learn to take Q first thing in the morning to protect my sleep. The first two weeks of taking it at night, I couldn't sleep through the night, and I had insanely vivid dreams. Moving it to the morning took care of that. It does not make me sleepy during the day. I have an entirely new way of living and realize what a fog I was in on Topamax. Grateful for the scientists who figured this one out!"

For Migraine Prevention "I suffered two TBIs (Traumatic brain injury) in 2018 and 2020 from falls that caused injuries to the left side of my brain and cervical neck. Like most, I have been on just about everything as my headaches are daily and I have what's called complex migraines basically stroke to the left side of my body including my vision. My recent meds Nurtec and Ajovy which were giving me relief stopped working but I had been on them for 1-2 yrs. So, my neurology doctor, had me try Qulipta 60mg daily and so far it's been the best by far!! That being said I have only been on it for 2 weeks and will wait until 30 days before deciding to make a permanent change but this is the best I have felt in some time. I have not noticed any major side effects as of yet but I will keep an eye out for them from some of the answers on this thread. Wishing all of you well battling severe migraines and hope you find a medication that works for you to bring relief and give you your life back :)"

For Chronic Migraine "I have tried nearly every available drug for migraine treatment. Nearly my entire life, I have just been treating them as I get them with the typical drugs like triptans. I found out over the years that I was allergic to most preventives. Qulipta has been like a magic potion for me. I hardly ever get full-blown migraines anymore. And when I do get them, they are very mild compared to what I was living with before. I have my life back. I no longer live in fear that a migraine will strike and prevent me from either driving home or ruining an event or even losing my job. The only issue I have now is constantly battling my insurance company to keep paying for it. They want me to keep trying these other drugs again and again that I am allergic to or that are ineffective for me."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on Qulipta for 17 days so far, and I haven't had a migraine yet! I suffer from chronic migraines - I get about 14-20 migraines a month. I have tried many different preventative drugs, and I have never been able to tolerate the side effects. So far, I have mild constipation, itching mild hives, and feet and hands are swollen. I can probably handle these, but it seems as if the fatigue that comes with this drug is getting worse, I am hoping this will subside, because I truly enjoy not having a migraine."
