Qulipta can be taken any time of the day to help prevent migraine headaches, but take it at about the same time each day. If it makes you feel nauseous, try taking it at mealtime. If you feel drowsy or dizzy, it may be better to take it at bedtime.

In studies, the most common side effects that people experienced with Qulipta 10 mg, 30 mg or 60 mg treatment doses included nausea, constipation, and fatigue or sleepiness.

Incidence of side effects

  • Nausea: 5% to 9%
  • Constipation: 6% to 8%
  • Fatigue / sleepiness: 4% to 5%
  • Decreased appetite: 1% to 3%
  • Dizziness: 2% to 3%

Most people (less than 1%) did not need to stop treatment due to these side effects.

It’s best to take your dose at the same time each day, whenever you decide to take it. Qulipta can be taken with or without food. Always follow your healthcare providers instructions for dosing and timing.

What kind of migraine does Qulipta treat?

Qulipta (atogepant) is a once daily treatment used to prevent episodic and chronic migraine headaches. It is not used to treat an acute attack.

A migraine is usually accompanied by a severe, throbbing headache (may be on just one side of the head), nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light, sound or touch.

  • People who have episodic migraines typically have 14 or fewer migraine days per month.
  • Chronic migraine is defined as 15 or more headache days per month, each lasting 4 or more hours.
  • Qulipta can help to reduce the number of migraines you may have per month and their severity.

Your healthcare provider may recommend Qulipta to help prevent your migraine headaches if you have frequent, long-lasting, or very severe migraines.
