"I was prescribed the pill a week ago. Stopped the itch, but started having discharge every day, doesn’t smell or anything yellow/light green. Not sure why I have a discharge when I never had a discharge before taking this pill, only the itch."

"So, was prescribed this for a vaginal yeast infection from antibiotics. Had to take 150 mg 1st day, then another 3 days later. After 30 mins of taking it, dizziness, nausea, headache hit me. An hour later, whole body started to itch, eyes, nose, ears, tongue, throat, extreme itching and burning, itching & prickling in the anus, can't sit or lie down. Dunno if it is an allergic reaction. Next day, bad stomach & tummy cramps, bloating, gas, sweating, a bit of diarrhea, fatigue, mood swings, dp feelings, loss of appetite, cough, chest pain, flu symptoms, throat is tingling and can't eat a damn thing without choking. Literally dunno what to do. My vag is now in co-ma. Discharge went away, the itching and irritation are still there, & I'm in a lot of pain, the yeast infection is still there. Will not take the 2nd pill. Had I known the side effects, I would have flushed this pill in the toilet. I could have just cured the yeast infection naturally with a diet, probiotics, or old-fashioned Monistat."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "This worked great for me. Before taking the pill, I was itching and burning and had discharge. I was so embarrassed because I had never had one before. I also started to develop ulcers in my mouth, so the infection actually reached my mouth since it went untreated for 3 weeks. I was prescribed Diflucan. I took it on Friday, by Sunday, I started to feel better. On Sunday, I took the second pill. It is now Tuesday and my tongue ulcers are healing, my tonsils have gone down. The itching and burning stopped, but the irritation is still there whenever I wash my vagina with soap or wear certain panties."

"I was suffering from vaginal thrush for the last year. I tried all over-the-counter medicine, home remedies, and a strict diet, nothing worked for me. My GP sent me to a gynecologist, and she put me on boric acid pessaries every month for 15 days and fluconazole 150 mg every week. I took fluconazole for more than a year, but nothing worked for me. The itch was so bad all the time, no one understood me. I was in pain. Then I went to a new GP, and I explained everything to her. She put me on fluconazole 50 mg daily for 8 weeks. It was the best decision of my life. Slowly, day by day, my symptoms went away, and finally, I am now thrush-free! I can’t believe it, it’s really a good treatment. Fluconazole 150 mg only works if you have thrush once, but in my case, being severe, we needed regular dosage. Thanks."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "I asked my doctor for a prescription of Diflucan after Monistat 7 burned my insides worse than the infection itself! Diflucan has been great for me so far!! I was prescribed two 150 mg tablets—one to take ASAP, and the other to take three days later. I’m on day 2 of the pill being in my system, and let me tell you, although it takes a while for the pill to kick in, it really does work!!! Now, this didn’t work a mere couple of hours later for me, I didn’t start to feel relief until this morning, but a little over 24 hours after ingesting the pill, and the burning has completely gone away :) The itchiness is still prevalent, although it has subsided GREATLY. I’m still a bit sore, but that’s to be expected with a really bad yeast infection. The only side effects that I’ve really noticed with this pill are that it did leave a small patch of dry skin near my mouth (but as an eczema sufferer, this is nothing crazy for me to handle lol), and it really will give you the poops."

"I have had a horrible yeast for six days. Tried coconut oil, eating raw garlic, 3-Day Monistat treatment, baking soda baths and Apple Cider Vinegar; nothing was helping. Day 6, I was in so much pain and itching so intense I couldn't even think. I also had a swollen throat which was coated with white film, which is a sign of candida overload or 'thrush'. I was desperate after my second Monistat treatment made it worse!!! So, I went to my Doc and explained about four different kinds of yeast and Monistat doesn't cure all. He wrote me a prescription for Diflucan. This is no exaggeration: within fifteen minutes of taking it, yeast dumped out of my body. A few hours later, and it's still coming out, and my thrush/candida-coated throat is almost gone."

"I had 2 recurrent yeast infections in a month. I had used clotrimazole cream and suppositories during this time. The itchiness went away with this treatment, so I knew it was a yeast infection, and the discharge was not smelly. The third time, I asked my doctor to give me fluconazole. With 100 mg on the first day, I saw improvement. Please don't suffer with yeast infections, take this pill. I did get a discharge after the first day, so hopefully all the yeast is coming off. The second dose cleared it out completely. I will recommend this product, but if you are allergic to it, then try some other yeast infection medication."

"I had a moderate vaginal yeast infection, and it was the first sort of thing like that I've ever had. I went into the University wellness center to be checked out, and was offered 2 options: a three-time creme and vaginal suppository treatment, or a one-time orally ingested antibiotic. I chose the method that was least... itchy, the pill. I've nothing but good reviews for the medicine. It was convenient, being a one-and-done thing. It was effective - experienced some relief within 24-36 hours of taking it, was completely relieved within 4-5 days. A week later, the yeast infection appeared to be near completely gone. I had almost no side effects other than some very mild nausea shortly after ingestion. Would take again if need be."

"I have issues with yeast infections, and I took one pill Monday night and the second Wednesday night. Every symptom went away except for the itching! I can't stand it anymore. It's now Thursday, and I'm still itching, not as bad but still. This medication has always worked for me before, and all symptoms were gone in two days... not this time. I'm still itching."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "I have suffered every month, for years with a yeast problem. Avoiding sex, chocolate, and wine were hardly a solution for me! These are the important ingredients you should be taking: 1. Eat yogurt & cereal on an empty stomach. 2. Take an acidophilus supplement. This made me NORMAL. Hooray!"

"I had a yeast infection. Friday, I went to the doctor on Monday, who prescribed fluconazole and Canesten cream. When I took fluconazole 150 mg on Monday night, the next morning, I woke up with green discharge that smelled funny. I began to get worried, but I continued to watch it. During the day, the discharge wasn't green anymore, but it was brownish and thick. It looked more like whipped cream and felt plasticky to me. By the end of the day, my discharge was white and looked like the typical vaginal yeast infection. As the days went by, the discharge lessened, and the smell disappeared. I don't know if that's how the pill works to get rid of the yeast, but that was how my body reacted to it. My yeast infection is now completely gone."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "After having a urinary tract infection for three weeks, & three different antibiotics, with the third being Bactrim, I developed a horrible yeast infection. Thank goodness my Dr. prescribed seven days worth of Diflucan. After one pill, I experienced relief. Not complete relief, but I could finally get some sleep. Before Diflucan, I went through two tubes of Vagisil. It works but there is a perfumy smell that clings to the body. If my Dr. had only prescribed one pill I would be back in the ER begging for something to relieve the maddening itch. This is my first yeast infection & I hope I never get another!"

"This medication is not a joke, I kid you not. I was able to take only 2 of 3 prescribed pills of 150 mg of this chemical for a very bad vaginal yeast infection brought on by antibiotic use, and I regret that I took this. One single pill caused pounding headaches, extreme nausea, tachycardia, chills, cold and hot flushes, profuse sweating, depression, explosive diarrhea, no appetite, fatigue, pale skin, dizziness, chest tightness, panic attacks, mental confusion, and nightmares. I felt like I was in a living nightmare or in a horror movie. That said, it did not even touch my burning, itchy, and violently discharging vagina. Even more, my vagina felt numb on this pill, and no sexual pleasure, even my poor boyfriend started to think that I was going to have a normal vagina and enjoy sex. I will never take this chemical again in my system. Now taking Candex with a probiotic and a yeast-free diet seems to be working. Hoping to bring my vagina into this world again."

"Had a vaginal yeast infection for three days until I finally made up my mind to head to the clinic. I was diagnosed with a vaginal yeast infection and was prescribed 150 mg of fluconazole (Diflucan). An hour after taking the pill, my symptoms ceased to a minimum. However, the itchiness and burning sensation still lasted for around two days before it finally resolved."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "First off, I looked in here to see when it was best to take the pill. My doctor always prescribes me one 'Just in case' whenever he gives me antibiotics. But the first thing I saw was how much people are spending on these. There are coupons available for the more expensive prescriptions, but at all Walmart stores Diflucan is $4.00! Same as antibiotics. Just tell them do not run your insurance. Hope that helps!"

Diflucan (fluconazole) "I took a single dose of Diflucan a few days ago after developing an agonizing yeast infection, thanks to a round of antibiotics, coupled with an allergic reaction to a product I had used called Yeastaway (never again!). Once the Diflucan kicked in - boy, did it work - it was like night and day. By the hour, the swelling, itching, and discharge were going down. I went from pure itching hell (tearing apart the freezer looking for something to ease the agony) the night before to a calm, restful night the following day. I've never noticed any negative physical side effects. My only frustration was that this took 2.5 solid days to start working... topical creams made me itch more, and I started to wonder if the Diflucan would ever work at all."

"I was prescribed this after finishing the 7-day Monistat and still had symptoms of itching, dry skin, red coloration of the skin, and mild burning. I think it was a combination of the Monistat drying the skin of my labia majora and still having a yeast infection. I took the pill for fluconazole and didn't really notice big changes until day 2. By day 2, I started having a lot of white thick discharge, and itching went down. Redness didn't start fading until the 3rd day. To keep myself from wanting to itch and moisturize my dry skin, I did use cortisone cream on my labia majora. I'm still on day 3 and still notice my labia minora is sensitive to touch. What I suggest when taking the pill is to drink plenty of water, change your underwear often, or don't wear any at all. Let your vagina breathe! Yeast love warm, moist environments, so not having any fabric covering it will help a lot."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "DO NOT DRINK if you take this medication. The alcohol makes it not work. I had no idea and I like my wine. A Dr friend of mine told me that alcohol could be affecting the drug. Anytime I have ever tried to drink and take this it doesn't work. If I don't drink at all when I take it, it works like magic. If you have had a problem with it not working, make sure you're not drinking. Even one drink has made it not work as well for me. It literally is a lifesaver."

"I had a yeast infection to the 10th power. I tried some OTC vaginal medicines and definitely didn't work out for me. Seemed like it got worse. Very embarrassing and uncomfortable, not a good feeling! My doctor prescribed me 2 doses at 150mg each. I took the 1st pill at noon and I could really feel relief within hours. I highly recommend this pill for quick relief. Thank goodness for Fluconazole!"

"The past few days I've had this horrible yeast infection. Thankfully, this pill exists because I wanted to cry earlier from being so uncomfortable. My doctor gave me this 1 pill, and I felt relief within the first hour. I have no doubts that I'll be 100% within a day or two. Oh! And I didn't experience any side effects."

Diflucan (fluconazole) "I too had a rash close to my vagina, a pretty bad one & my gynecologist said it was bacterial vaginosis along with a yeast infection. It was my 1st infection so I had no idea what was going on. She prescribed me metronidazole 500 mg for 7 days, on day 4 I took Diflucan 1, on day 7 I took another Diflucan 1, three days later I took my last one. I didn't start seeing results until I was taking both medications together. For those of you who have to pay for your medicine go on their website they have a $5 off coupon."

"I got this one oral pill 150 mg prescribed by my OBGYN yesterday to treat my first time yeast infection. Dr. told me to wear 100% cotton underwear for 2 weeks. Always drying the area well after a shower with a clean, dry towel, plus using a hair dryer to blow it dry (use regular air, not hot air). Then, applying baby diaper rash cream (like Desitin) all around that area on both sides. Finally, taking a cup of yogurt every day. I asked if I could take a probiotic, she said it's fine. After taking the pill yesterday morning, last night, I didn't wake up until 5:30 am. Late morning, there was still some itchiness, but not too severe. I hope it will get better tomorrow. So far, I haven't felt any side effects. Good luck, everyone!"
