Precautions

It is very important that your doctor check your or your child's progress at regular visits to make sure this medicine is working properly. Blood tests may be needed to check for unwanted effects.

This medicine may cause serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis and angioedema, which can be life-threatening an require immediate medical attention. Check with your doctor right away if you or your child have a cough, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, fast heartbeat, large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals, rash, itching, trouble breathing, or unusual tiredness or weakness after receiving this medicine.

Serious side effects of Adzynma

Along with its needed effects, apadamtase alfa, recombinant (the active ingredient contained in Adzynma) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking apadamtase alfa, recombinant:

More common side effects

  • body aches or pain
  • chills
  • cough
  • ear congestion
  • fever
  • headache, severe and throbbing
  • loss of voice
  • sneezing
  • sore throat
  • stuffy or runny nose
  • trouble breathing
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  • blurred vision
  • burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  • chest tightness
  • confusion
  • difficulty swallowing
  • dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  • fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  • hives, itching, skin rash
  • large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  • nausea
  • puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  • restlessness
  • unusual drowsiness, dullness, or feeling of sluggishness
  • vomiting

Other side effects of Adzynma

Some side effects of apadamtase alfa, recombinant may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.
