Glycopyrrolate Pregnancy Warnings

Glycopyrrolate has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of teratogenicity. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Glycopyrrolate is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

There are no data on the excretion of glycopyrrolate into human milk. The manufacturer recommends that a decision be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue glycopyrrolate, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.
