Drug Interaction Report
1 potential interaction and/or warning found for the following 2 drugs:
- decitabine
- TheraCys (bcg)
Interactions between your drugs
BCG decitabine
Applies to: TheraCys (bcg), decitabine
If you are currently being treated or have recently been treated with decitabine, you should let your doctor know before receiving BCG. Depending on the dose and length of time you have been on decitabine, you may be at risk for developing an infection from BCG or have a reduced response to BCG. In some situations, your doctor may want to delay treatment with BCG to give your body time to recover from the effects of decitabine therapy. Additionally, since the bacteria in BCG may persist in the urinary tract for months after treatment, you may still be at increased risk for infection even if you receive decitabine after you have stopped treatment with BCG for some time. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
