Warfarin is used in the treatment of antiphospholipid syndrome; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after knee replacement surgery; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after hip replacement surgery; chronic central venous catheterization; deep vein thrombosis, first event and belongs to the drug class coumarins and indandiones. For women with mechanical heart valves: There is positive evidence of human fetal risk during pregnancy. For other pregnant populations: Not for use in pregnancy. Warfarin 10 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
