Gemfibrozil is used in the treatment of high cholesterol; hyperlipoproteinemia type iib, elevated ldl vldl; hyperlipoproteinemia; hyperlipoproteinemia type iv, elevated vldl; hyperlipoproteinemia type v, elevated chylomicrons vldl and belongs to the drug class fibric acid derivatives. Risk cannot be ruled out during pregnancy. Gemfibrozil 600 MG is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA).
