Usual Adult Dose for Positron Emission Tomography Imaging
While using the CardioGen-82 Model 510 Infusion System:
Rest or stress imaging: 1,480 MBq (40 mCi), with a range of 1,110 MBq to 2,220 MBq (30 mCi to 60 mCi) intravenously through a catheter inserted into a large peripheral vein at a rate of 50 mL/minute
Maximum dose: 2,220 MBq (60 mCi) or a maximum volume of 100 mL per rest or stress component of a procedure
While using the CardioGen-82 Model 1700 Infusion System:
Rest or stress imaging: 10 MBq/kg to 30 MBq/kg (0.27 mCi/kg to 0.81 mCi/kg) intravenously through a catheter inserted into a large peripheral vein at a rate of 20 mL/minute or 50 mL/minute
Maximum dose: 2,220 MBq (60 mCi) or a maximum volume of 100 mL per rest or stress component of a procedure
Comments:
- Adhere to aseptic techniques during all drug handling and administration.
- Confirm the use of the appropriate generator system when following the protocols for dosing, elution, and eluate testing.
- Use only additive-free 0.9% sodium chloride solution to elute this diagnostic agent.
- Use the lowest dose necessary.
- Administer two single doses to complete rest and stress myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI).
- Advise patients to void as soon as possible after administration and as often as possible thereafter for at least one hour after the completion of the PET scan.
Use: For positron emission tomography (PET) myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) under rest or pharmacologic stress in adult patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD).

Precautions
US BOXED WARNINGS:
- The use of an incorrect eluent can result in high Strontium (Sr) 82 and Sr 85 breakthrough levels.
- Use only additive-free 0.9% sodium chloride solution to elute this diagnostic agent.
- If an incorrect eluent is used: immediately stop infusion, evaluate dose of radiation absorbed by the patient, monitor effects of radiation on critical organs such as bone marrow, and permanently discontinue using the affected generator.
- Excess radiation exposure occurs when the levels of Sr 82 or Sr 85 in this drug's injection exceeds limits.
- Record eluate volume, including waste and test volumes.
- Closely follow generator eluate testing protocol.
- Discontinue using the generator if it reaches any of its expiration limits.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- None
Safety and efficacy have not been established in patients younger than 18 years.
Consult WARNINGS section for additional precautions.
