Usual Adult Dose for Chylomicronemia Syndrome
80 mg subcutaneously once a month
Comments:
- It is advised to maintain a low-fat diet (Up to 20 g fat per day) while using this drug.
- Before starting, patients and/or caregivers should be instructed on the correct preparation and administration of this drug.
Use: As an adjunct to diet to reduce triglycerides in adults with familial chylomicronemia syndrome

Precautions
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- History of serious hypersensitivity to the active component or any of the ingredients
Safety and efficacy have not been established in patients younger than 18 years.

Administration advice:
- Allow single-dose autoinjector to warm to room temperature; remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before injection. Do not use other warming methods.
- Visually inspect for particulate matter before administration. Do not use if cloudiness, particulate matter, or discoloration is observed.
- Inject subcutaneously into the abdomen or front of the thigh. The back of the upper arm can be used as an injection site if administered by a health care provider or caregiver.
- If a dose is missed, it should be administered as soon as remembered and resume monthly dosing from the date of the most recent dose.
Storage requirements:
- Refrigerate at 2C to 8C (36F to 46F) in the original carton.
- After removing from refrigerator, can store at room temperature between 15C and 30C (59F and 86F) in the original carton for up to 6 weeks; discard if not used within 6 weeks.
- Do not freeze. Do not expose to heat. Protect from light.
General:
- Hypersensitivity reactions (including symptoms of bronchospasm, diffuse erythema, facial swelling, urticaria, chills, myalgias) requiring medical treatment have occurred.
Patient advice:
- Read the US FDA-approved patient labeling (Patient Information and Instructions for Use).
- If signs or symptoms of hypersensitivity reactions occur, discontinue this drug, and immediately seek medical help.
- Using lipid-regulating agents does not reduce the importance of adhering to a low-fat diet.
