Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "Fantastic medicine! I have insomnia, depression and anxiety. Helps me fall asleep and sleep hard all through the night. I wake up feeling refreshed. This pill gives me lots of energy. Imy back on my bicycle and hitting my home gym daily. I feel confident in myself for the first time and almost feel guilty for not having constant self depreciating thoughts. Thankful God has given me powerful healing in this medicine. A tool against the devil, I no longer hear his lies so much. Living happily "

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "I was on 7.5 for a few months after deaths in the family. Remeron works WELL. No side effects except it being hard to wake up, hence coffee. EXCERCISE & LIMIT CARBS while on it. Many people say it’s impossible to come off Remeron. It’s Not. Yes it’s not easy, but it’s doable. If you do a slow, gradual taper over several weeks or months, depending on your specific situation, you will be off no problem. I’ve been off for about a week now, and I tapered over 2 months more or less, to the point of taking micro doses (a tiny crumb of a pill) in the final days. Make sure to have the natural calming agents: Fish oil, Magnesium Glycinate, Ashwaghanda, CBD oil, Melatonin, GABA, Chamomile tea, &Vitamin C. Have a good healthy diet with organic foods, exercise daily, and meditate before going to bed. The people that struggle coming off came off too fast, or tried cold turkey. If you have bad insomnia and need temporary (weeks/months) help sleeping, this is a VERY GOOD drug."

For Anxiety "I have been on this med for 10 years. I was severely underweight, had severe PTSD and anxiety from the military. I was lucky to sleep 5-7 hours a week. The only side effects I have experienced were weight gain (which I NEEDED) and sleep. I can take it anytime during the day or night, and the sleep doesn't hit me like it did in the beginning. It keeps my mood very even, and I don't have ups and downs. I have gone without it before for several days and other than sleeping, I had no withdrawal symptoms. Please remember that every medicine affects each person differently. After 10 years of taking this med, it still works, and I have no intentions of ever coming off of it. I have recommended this med to several people, and they have had similar experiences. I hope this helps. Get the relief you deserve and need."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Insomnia "I am writing to say DO NOT judge by the experience of others - try it yourself. In my case, after twenty years of stumbling daily through a heavy fog, unable to concentrate, loss of memory, no motivation. Remeron gave me 8 hours of sleep a night, week after week, until I became a new person simply because my body was getting rest. I made sure only healthy, healthy food was available in my house and did not have any weight gain at all. For some people this will provide a miraculous turn around - try it like I did - two weeks will give you a good test, no need for six weeks like other drugs. Start on low dose, don't take it until bedtime, no matter what the doctor says. Good luck, hope it helps you too."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "I have suffered from severe disabling anxiety and depression for over a year now. I'm a paramedic, and father of 2 children and it greatly affected by ability to work, or even go to work and also my ability to enjoy my children when I had them. Lost 30-40lbs. After trying every SSRI on the market for 4 weeks and finally developing suicidal thoughts I checked myself in to a hospital. Within 4 days of starting Rememron- depression was completely relieved. Still have anxiety at times, no panic attacks. VERY FEW SIDE EFFECTS. Had sweating the first 2 days, that's it. GREAT MEDICINE FOR ME!!!!!!! I'm eating again and feeling great!"

For Insomnia "Wow this med Remeron is a life saver for me. The sleep is deep and restorative. My dr had me take 7.5 and then I a week up it to 15 mg. Even 7.5 was a bit too much. So I’m cutting a 15 mg in quarters. Finally something that works for my insomnia. Make sure you take it early enough so you can get at least 8 hours. First night I slept 11.5 hours and could have slept longer. That’s why I’m cutting the 7.5 in half and see how that works for me."

For Anxiety "I have been on 15mg of Mirtazapine for 8 weeks now with no major side effects. The amount of panic attacks and anxiety I experience has been reduced significantly and I also now have the energy during the day to be active. When I do begin to spiral into anxious thoughts I am now much more able to pull myself out of these thoughts and distract myself. Before this was not possible. However I should note, I also made significant lifestyle changes (such as better diet, more exercise and reading), which I believe have also had a large effect on my mood and mental health. The medicine enabled me to make and maintain these changes."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "I was taking mirtazapine for around a year and had I been in a better space I would have gotten off it as soon as I realised it was causing certain effects on me. Minor side effects - sluggishness, major weigh gain. I was prescribed this medication due to having poor sleep but it made me have vivid awful dreams - sleep paralysis multiple times a night. I used to sleep for 14+ hours, usually in the day due to being worried about falling asleep for the nightmares. It caused me to miss lots of university - I was so tired and drowsy I could not physically get up. I wish I had been able to understand the effect it was having on my body and stop them sooner. I was severely suicidal. I made plans almost daily, even walking to the shop I thought about walking in front of buses. It was a truly awful time in my life, made worse by a medication which did not suit me. I’m glad it has worked for some, but If anyone I knew personally were to tell me they were taking it, I would advise them not to."

For Depression "I've taken Mirtazapine (30 mg) in the orodispersible version for severe depression with insomnia and other disorders. This medication really helped me out, it has litterally saved me. I'm a whole different person after the cure with it. No side effects on me. I recommend taking it in the evening if possible, because this antidepressant has very strong antihistamine properties (I no longer had allergic rhinitis or urticaria from pollen and dust), so it leads to a marked sleepiness. For this reason, it is useful in case of insomnia. My overall opinion is excellent, it pulled me out of a very bad situation of inner suffering that I thought was unfortunately chronic over time. I have not had any withdrawal symptoms after discontinuation. This antidepressant does not affect nor the sexual drive nor the sexual function."

For Anxiety "Hello, I was diagnosed with GAD about 10yrs ago along with depression and panic attacks. I was prescribed zoloft and it does help with depression but not my anxiety. I have a real hard time sleeping too. So I decided to see a new psychiatrist and she prescribed mirtazapine 7.5 right before sleep. I started taking it and immediately noticed a quiet difference in my sleep. It doesn't knock me out like other medications did..it's like a relaxing feeling. After about a month I started noticing the want to talk more at work and to do more around the house. I was feeling more like myself. So it helps with my anxiety too, a bonus. I urge you to try it and see if it helps. I thought I had tried everything out there."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "I NEVER REALIZED HOW BAD I WAS UNTIL I STARTED FEELING GOOD AGAIN!! Remeron has changed my life. I had anxiety and depression and I had tried zoloft, buspar, wellbutrin, and am on lexapro still. Some of my worst anxiety symptoms were nausea, lack of appetite ,and vivid dreams. I am currently on lexapro 15 mg with 7.5 mg remeron that I started a little over a week ago. I was scared to try it because I am sensitive to medication changes but the first night I slept amazing, fell asleep easy and woke up with a quiet mind. I still had vivid dreams but I did not have an anxiety producing reaction. I was scared I would never find an answer to my anxiety disorder which resulted in depression as well. Highly recommended if dealing with insomnia, vivid dreams, and lack of appetite. I did not have any weight gain but did have food cravings for the first day or so but other than that this drug was side effect free. The weight has finally been lifted off my shoulders and the mind is much quieter."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "I'm a 43 year old woman and I've been on 30mg Remeron for over 10 years now, it was prescribed for major depression and generalized anxiety disorder. I was NOT sleeping at all, when I first started taking it I was a walking zombi for about 2-3 months (got some much needed sleep) however after that it's like someone opened a window in a dark room. I was feeling 80% normal (prior to taking it I was in the negative) I'll take 80% any day. You should take it an hour or so before bed time because it has a huge sedative effect and take care in the beginning because its potent to begin with. It takes time for it to start really working so don't be put off by the zombi state, it does go away."

For Insomnia "I have been on 15mg at bedtime for 10 years. I take this with 10 MG of Lexapro. I tried countless medications to help with crippling GAD. I was not able to sleep, lost a lot of weight, cried all the time. It was a horrible year and half. I am 60 and have been this for 10 years. It is true all meds work different on everyone. Just don't give up hope finding a combination that works. You will find it! It also helps to find a support group if you can so you know you are not alone. Never think for a moment God had abandoned you. You will be able to help someone and bring hope to someone else. It is sooo hard but keep trying to find what works for you."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "My main problem is a pretty bad insomnia / anxiety. I tried several natural products over the last 3 years (melatonine, Valerian root, Tea, GABA, Magnesium etc...) as well as using good sleeping habits. I just couldn't support the lack of sleep anymore (hundreds of night without sleeping in the last year) so my GP prescribed me with Zoplicone & Trazodone. It didn't work and my anxiety went pretty bad. I finally pushed my GP to prescribe Remeron. After one week I regained my sleeping cycle at 15mg. Little to no side effects for me except I feel a bit sleepy until 10AM. Really mild anti-depressant, far from SSRI really bad side & withdrawal effects. Try it without fear."

For Anxiety "This antidepressant is something else. It has changed my life for the good. I finally found a medication that actually works for me. Anxiety gone within a few days, sleep is blissful, you might gain a few pounds but nothing you can't manage. The hidden reason why this is the best medication = 0 side effects. Literally. No emotional numbness, no sexual side effects, no excessive sweating. It has been a life changer. I take 7.5/15mg before bed and sometimes 30mg in the morning if I need energy. Fantastic medication. Also cheap!"

For Anxiety "Started taking Mirtazapine December 31st because of my eating disorder that makes me picky with food and lack of appetite. My main goal was to get rid of my major anxiety. First month: nothing major happened with my anxiety. More headaches than usually. I wasn't depressed in the first place, but Mirtazapine made me feel like my life actually got more manageable and that I had more energy to do things, like study. They increased my dose every 3 weeks because I was still having anxiety. I am now on 40mg and my anxiety is better. I do however think it's because I have a better outlook on life. My appetite is a lot better, during these 3 months I have gained around 4kg. I never have bad eating days now so I eat regularly. About my sleeping habits: I've always been a night owl. Nowadays, if I take it around 8 PM, then I am asleep by 11:30. On the weekends I wake up around 8-10 AM on my own. I don't feel tired throughout the day."

For Insomnia "Yeah, I take mirtazapine for depression, it knocks me out every night (my dose is 45mg) but all night my brain is racing with weird dreams, I wake, it feels like I haven't slept at all. I can sleep for 12 hours + easily and feel like rubbish when I get out of bed. I don't know if its done anything for my depression/anxiety because I've been on them for a while. I take them with 30mg of diazepam a day. Yeah, I'm a total zombie. I always used to be slim, now, I'm really bloated, I think they make you crave sugar. I regret starting taking them, definitely. Stay away if you can."

For Insomnia "I've had very severe insomnia for over 35yrs. I have tried many, many prescription and over the counter pills, as well as CBT, a wide range of alternative treatments eg hypnotherapy and homeopathy. I was prescribed Mirtazapine 2yrs ago (no idea why it wasn't prescribed before), and it's actually working. It's not perfect, I still have lots of nights of poor sleep but often I feel normal and capable of facing the day and that's amazing for me. I am not dep3, not over weight and have an otherwise happy life. Mirtazapine I love you."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Depression "Probably the best antidepressant I've taken in terms of overall effect and side effects (minimal side effects). Also, I noted the improvement in days, vs weeks for SSRI/SNRI's. It's not like being hit by a dose of Ritalin but just was a general sense of wanting to get back in the game, feeling ok, but not "locked in" - still have a good range of emotions."

For Depression "I have been taking mirtazapine 30mg for now 3 years and it’s extremely beneficial for me. SSRI didn’t work well for me and/or gave me unacceptable side effects. Mirtazapine help me sleep well, calm my anxiety, make me more optimistic and positive…without any sexual side effects, weight gain and now. I’m not sleeping 18 hours a day or sleepy at all during the day. Health care professional myself, I can’t warn you enough about all the bad reviews. People who left bad reviews seem to forget that the medication is not the only factor to consider. They were not well before taking it so there is a lot happening outside the meds."

Remeron (mirtazapine) for Major Depressive Disorder "30mg every night for PTSD, panic disorder and major depression. dealing with childhood trauma like physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault from a young age. Mind doesn't race as much, don't have dangerous thoughts anymore. I still experience panic attacks, occasional chest tightness if I think about it, but panic attacks have significantly gone down to at least maybe once a month if not every other month. I have gained few pounds. If you have a sensitive stomach, eating right before or after taking this medication else you'll feel bad waves of nausea. My parents hid panic disorder as a child and lied to me about it so, I started experiencing them much more often in high school. have I honestly never felt better mentally. I can't say enough good things about this medication! Wait it out if you really think this will work for you. I had tried 6+ medications, this one works miracles and my mental health is 70-75% better."
