For Dietary Fiber Supplementation "I have taken inulin for about 6 months. It started when I ate one fiber brownie with inulin. I then increased to sometimes 2 brownies a day. I then add a scoop of inulin to my coffee that completely dissolves, and I do not taste it. My poo is now normal-looking, whereas before, it was like water. I take metformin, which causes loose stools, and also Trulicity, which also caused loose stools and made it worse. Inulin helps to firm up the poo somehow, even though I eat lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grains, which did nothing to help."

For Dietary Fiber Supplementation "I only had one teaspoon, got bad wind, indigestion, heartburn, runny poo, sore tummy. I will persevere for another couple of days, but if tummy pain and heartburn are the same, I will have to stop. It is supposed to aid. Was good for us prebiotics. Hope I'm taking the wrong one, as he didn't mention side effects."
For Dietary Fiber Supplementation "Both parents had severe colon issues. Mother had extreme polyp growths. Father developed colon cancer. I began taking Inulin at about age 55 after the first colonoscopy, which yielded one polyp and showed gut inflammation. I read up on recommendations for dosage and started with 1/16 tsp 1x day. Every 15 days, I doubled the dosage in this manner: 1/16 tsp. 1x day for 15 days, 1/16 tsp. 2x day for 15 days, 1/8 tsp. 2x day for 15 days, 1/4 tsp 2x day for 15 days, 1/2 tsp 2x day, then 1 tsp. in morning coffee. This nearly eliminated the gas issue; it was very minor, and it eliminated the bloating others complained of. Eleven years on, 66 y/o, not one more polyp nor any inflammation in any colonoscopies. By the age of 65, my mother had racked up dozens of polyps removed, and my father had just started doctoring his colon inflammation. By the age of 68 is when he developed colon cancer, and by the age of 72, he had his colostomy. My doctor has reduced my schedule for colonoscopies to every 5 years!"
