Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I had a bad attack of IC, and could not get a bladder irrigation for a few days, so took Uribel. It eased the pain. When I went for my normal swim, I could not catch my breath. I had brachycardia. I stopped taking the meds after a few days because the feeling of not being able to breathe properly was worrying me. It's 5 or 6 days since I stopped taking it, and when I swam again, the situation was even worse. Tagamet is the only other medicine that has done this to me. I have to keep struggling, even now, sitting at home, to get enough of a breath. I wish the medicine would stop affecting me. I looked online to see what to do, or if brachycardia was listed as a side effect, but it isn't. I am wondering what I should do to get back to normal."

Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "An amazing drug. Suffered from bladder pain without UTI. Went to my internist, urologist, gynecologist, and finally a urogynecology specialist. A couple of doses of Uriel and I was pain free. Such relief! Now I take it at the first sign of discomfort. As others have said, it changed my life. The only side effect is a minor dry mouth. A small price to pay for pain relief!"

Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) "I have been struggling for almost a year with this "unknown" pain. I went to a new dr and I was given a sample of this. Long story short. It's great! I still have some small urgency issues but the pain is almost non existent. I can tell almost immediately if I miss a dose. I take it every 6 hours and definitely will continue. My dr had a manufacturers coupon which helped me with costs as well as her giving me lots of samples. I now spend $27 a week on it"

Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I took this medicine for years whenever bladder pain happened and it worked great. The prescription was old and the pills smelled like fish so I threw them out. The pharmacy gave me the generic version and I broke out in hives and itching!! Will stop taking... so confused??"

Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I was taking this for interstitial cystitis. Stains your toilet blue and you need a pumice stone to rid of it. Works for pain but major nuisance with the staining. There must be something out there without the blue dye? "

Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I took this because I have to pee every hour on the hour. Unfortunately it didn't do anything, actually I think it made me want to pee more frequently. I only took 1 pill though, but didn't bother taking anymore."

Uribel (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I have had IC for about six years. Uribil helps tremendously with pain and burning and spasms. However, take it as soon as you notice any type of uncomfortableness because it takes about three or four hours before it kicks in for me. While I’m in a flare, I cannot miss a dose. Takes about 98% of the pain away for me. I don’t know what I would do without this medicine. Makes my urine blue but that’s totally fine with me as long as the pain is gone. Slight headache sometimes is the only side effect I have experienced."

Phosphasal (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "The Methenamine contained in Phosphasal and drugs with the exact same ingredients, contains formaldehyde. My urologist put me on this for bladder pain. I discovered this because after googling it I realized that the FDA does not approve this drug, nor drugs similar to it, and I wondered why My urologist put me on this for bladder pain. . I am concerned… Should I be?"

Uro-MP (hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate / sodium biphosphate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I had been taking Uribel off and on for 6 years to treat interstitial cystitis flares. When it was temporarily unavailable last summer I ended up with uro-mp as an “equivalent.” It did not work much at all, even at max dosage, and the side effects were much worse including multiple UTI’s because my doctor and I couldn’t get bad flares under control. Back on Uribel now thank goodness and I am doing much better."
