For Insomnia "I've been on the Rx for over 20 years. I am a Senior citizen and have multiple serious and some severe health issue. Not having access to this drug as a refill on January 3, 2020 is putting my LIFE AT RISK! I know this as FACT. Mylan is absolutely liable. There is nothing that takes this long to create. I've put off surgery to even ensure that their projected date for refill would come before my surgery but they do not care about PEOPLE. Big Pharma doesn't CARE ABOUT PEOPLE!"

For Insomnia "I just returned from a 2 night stay in the hospital, due to Roche’s discontinuing Flurazepam. I was on it for 12 years, 15 to 30 mg for sleep and it worked well. Now, my life is a living nightmare due to the drug company negligence. My heart rate soared to 199, my blood pressure is 140 to 160, coming off cold turkey on this drug. They gave me metoprolol and a high blood pressure medication, but the anxiety, dread and withdrawal symptoms are so bad. Yes, Roche Pharmaecutical needs to be SUED in a class action lawsuit, for their callous disregard of the thousands of long term patients who were dependent on this medicine. If anyone files, let ME KNOW! I’d not wish this withdrawal on my worst enemy!!"

For Insomnia "I was on 30mg of Dalmane nightly for insomnia since 1987. Same experience as others. The withdrawal has been terrible. Anxiety level is very high and my blood pressure (never an issue before) is very high despite high doses of Lisinoprin & Metoprolol. Mylan Pharmaceuticals is the manufacturer for Dalmane. I last called around 10/7. They claim they will start making Dalmane again on 12/2. It should be available in pharmacies later in December. Temazepam is too short acting for me. I have been prescribed 30 mg at night. It kicks in about an hour later and helps me sleep. Then it wears off early the next day and the overwhelming anxiety starts. Doc has also added in .5 mg of Clonazepam to be taken in the morning but that doesn't seem to help at all. Good luck to everyone and hit up Mylan customer service with phone calls!"

For Insomnia "Previously I had been on Flurazepam for 22 years with zero side effects. I have been very successful with starting 2 businesses, authored a great book, traveled around the world building churches and medical clinics. However, with big Pharma discontinuing production of Flurazepam, my doctor has thus far prescribed 4 different sleep aids, including one for high blood pressure and another for repair of nerve damage, I feel like I'm crawling out of my skin. So many side effects, if they don't find a sleep aid that has no or little side effects, I don't want to go on like this any longer. They've been prescribing different medications on me for over 3 months."

For Insomnia "First of all I am very allergic to most drugs. I have been taking Flurazapam for insomnia for 3 years, since my son who is a pilot for a commercial airline was diagnosed with cancer for the second time, my daughter quit speaking to me, and I had a horrible reaction to a glaucoma eye drop Lumigan. All of this stress at one time sent me into a state of insomnia. I was prescribed Flurazapam and did well on it. Now I am on Temazapam and it’s not working. Help bring back Flurazapam."

For Insomnia "I'm back drinking alcohol. Because the discontinuation of Flurazepam, this drug kept me off alcohol for 18 years. I lost hope with doctors! Giving me diazepam, temazepam, Xanax, zolnod and zopiclone! All hopeless!!! I might as well damage my old insides with alcohol!!! Mylan, are murderers!!! And being from the Republic of Ireland, I know there's no chance of any help!! I'm totally despondent!!! Dalmane/ Flurazepam always helped me with panic attacks, sleep deficiency, and it got me off alcohol 18 years ago! Now I'm destroying my health because of Mylan and the lies about Flurazepam/ Dalmane, coming back! I don't want doctors telling me what to do! They are incompetent! Alcohol is my old prescription! What a dangerous cure!!!"

For Insomnia "I have been reading all the statements about Flurazapam not being available. My experience mirrors most of the statements. This has been so very hard not sleeping. To make matters worse I was put on a Cpap machine. We have even purchased a sleep number bed trying anything to relieve my insomnia. I have gotten some relief by taking gabapentin and amitriptyline with melatonin. I take extra melatonin after an hour or so of not being able to sleep and I have been getting some relief. My memory has been altered. My Dr even ordered an MRI of my brain to make sure something else might be causing my problems. I have made multiple trips to the pharmacy to see if Flurazapam is available. Temazepam doesn’t work for me at all. This has been hard on my marriage. My fibromyalgia seems worse without Flurazapam. I feel Mylan has done a terrible injustice to all of us! I’ve been told my insurance won’t cover Flurazapam now??? Why?"

For Insomnia "I see that I am not the only one to contact a lawyer. When I learned it had been discontinued without notice to the public, doctors, or pharmacists, I requested a class action though the class actions website. Maybe enough of us did this to get them to bring it back and help people find it in the meantime. However, now they tell me there is another month's delay! I have very bad trigeminal neuralgia that is helped ONLY by sleep, and it is hard to get by with only one pill a night. Now I have only enough for one a night until December 20. I have asked my doctor to prescribe temazepam, although we tried it years ago and it made me feel knocked out and anxious the next day, and I see that it doesn't help others sleep. We are all victims of the manufacturer, Mylan. Maybe we should have that class action after all, although I wonder how I will survive to see it."

Dalmane (flurazepam) for Insomnia "Dalmane is a good medicine for insomnia because it works quickly and lasts a long time. Due to its long half life, it also gives anxiety relief for the next day. I also notice I can go to bed easier the next night without taking another dose. It does leave a metallic taste in the mouth and can build a tolerance but as long as you are careful, it can give restorative sleep. Also, because it is so old, this medicine is cheap for those of us paying with cash. I wouldn't recommend it long-term because of the consequences involved with long-term benzodiazepine use, but this is a sleeping pill that current manufacturers can't match."

For Insomnia "Well, once again we are no longer getting flurazepam, this time for 10-12 months. It has always worked for me and during the last shortage, I went thru terrible withdrawals. I can’t do that again, as it was so hard on me last time. I have sought the help of a dr that specializes in detox and I am doing much better than I had anticipated after the last time (I still have PTSD). But I highly recommend finding a Dr that can help you and use the Ashton manual so that you never have to go thru this again!!! Btw I believe the reason for the shortage is that Mylan ( the original manufacturer) has discontinued producing it, however, another company is in the process of applying for the patent and will be able to begin production in later in 2023. I wish you all the best with this. Stay strong and please consider discontinuing the use of this drug as it is not easy to find a supplement that can work as well as flurazepam!"

Dalmane (flurazepam) for Insomnia "I have only been on Dalmane for a few days, actually only have needed to take it like three times (not in a row) because it is so powerful that Im actually tired in the morning, but a good kind of tired.... Restoril I would wake up between 3-4am wide awake like I slept for 15 hours when it had only been 4 hours! I like the fact that I do not need to take it everyday which is an added benefit for me! and I agree with the previous posts, it does give me a calmer effect in the mornings. I actually SLEEP throughout the whole night, and I do not have a "blackout" effect that I have with other sleep rx's where I do not remember what happened during the night if I did anything.... not my thing!!! I had no idea it was an old medication."

For Insomnia "I have taken flurazepam for over 30 years for chronic insomnia. I take it a few hours before bed , it's slow effect but works. I found out my biggest problem is anxiety so Dr put me on mirtazipine and that works very well for most nights. But if I had a very bad nerve racking day I have more confidence in flurazapam and take it . Now it's hard to get. I'm 64 and been on it periodically for over 30 years and now they want to stop it .Really makes me mad"

For Insomnia "I have been taking Dalmane- Flurazepam- for over 25yrs. It has made an impossible life of panic attacks and phobias possible again. Now since it has been gone things have been so awful!! I found out through Mylan who by the way has been kind and helpful with information on released! I went to pharmacy today and they were surprised it was back. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow. Here's the glitch. My Dr. informed me where as he has no problem with me taking 2 a night, since my regular dosage was 30mg. The FDA will not let him prescribe any sleep medicine now for more than one pill per night. PLEASE don't ever let this happen again!!!"

For Insomnia "OMG. I have been a chronic insomnia for over 20 years. The only drug that helped me was Dalmane. I had no side effects what so ever and I got a decent nights sleep on 15mg. Rarely took 30mg. I was on it for about 6 months and had no side effects coming off it. Last year I tried to get it again and the doctor said he wasn't allowed to prescribe it anymore and gave me xanax because the normal sleeping tablets do not agree with me. Now the xanax doesn't work and I so want to go on the Dalmane and can't get it. It's so frustrating. I'm so exhausted all the time. I'm at my wits end. I found Dalmane just perfect for me..."

For Insomnia "flurazepam is a wonderful sleeping pill; I took it for 29 years; it always worked and had no side effects for me — I'd wake up refreshed, and feeling calm; never had any problems with memory loss, dizziness, nor anything else. I'm having a terrible time now that it's not available. I called Mylan a few days ago and they've moved it's availability date back to January 2020. I tried temazepam (Restoril) once and couldn't walk around without holding on to the walls and furniture."

Dalmane (flurazepam) for Insomnia "With all benzodiazepines you tend to build a tolerance which is why it is only recommended for short term insomnia treatment or to be taken as needed. I do have to say that when used as needed this medicine hit me like a mac truck and I would sleep 8 hours plus. My anxiety and insomnia both much improved. No hallucinations or late night grazing like with those so called "non-addictive" "non-narcotic" sleep aids. Word of advice. Make sure you take if you can sleep for at least 8 hours and set multiple alarms."

For Insomnia "I too have used Flurazepam to help me sleep for probably close to 20 years. At my PCP's suggestion. I started with 30 mgs but cut back to 15mg because I felt I didn't need the full 30mg. I've never felt 'hung over' using it. It's been a lifesaver for me. I don't use it daily only when needed but it never fails to get me to sleep. Sleep deprivation is a terrible thing to endure chronically; this drug has made my life so much better. It doesn't seem fair to take away something that works so well for so many people. I have 60 pills left and am hoarding them."

Dalmane (flurazepam) for Insomnia "I was on Dalmane for over 25 years. I have had always problem sleeping. My husband was transferred many times and I went to different doctors for my meds and Dalmane for sleeping. Not one doctor warned me that if I ever stopped taking it, I would have a problem. It was fine......helped me sleep! Then it all stopped! It was discontinued! Wow! I was NEVER so sick in my life. Shaking, nausea, thinking I was in a panic, trouble driving. Horrible! Dalmane could not be found! The pharmacist recommended Temazepam. It only let me sleep 3 or 4 hours! Still the shaking and finally had to try .05 Xanax during the day. After two years I am still not right!"

For Insomnia "I was on flurazapm for forty five years. I took 15 mg every night! Sometimes I would take them before bedtime and and other times in the middle of the night! Never had a problem with after effects and woke up each day ready to go! I could travel anywhere, anytime! Anytime except when I went to pick them up last November. O.M.G. the big stock problem Under the guidance of a pharmacologist I am now on my fifth month of a withdrawal program! So tempted to go back to my former self and not put myself through this ordeal! The worst part is the tinnitus which is constant. Thank God the volume differs each day! Now that I’ve gone so long It going to stick with it for at least another four or five months! At 83 years old I wonder if it’s worth it. I am afraid that they might stop producing it again! Anyone out there going through withdrawal. I am presently weaning off lorazepam. Luke"

For Insomnia "I suffer from insomnia and GAD. I am 75 years old and have been taking Dalmane/Flurazepam for the past 55 years. When taking that long it became my friend and I never increased. Went to pick up my prescription in June and could only get 20 pills vs the 90 prescribed. When I asked why I was told discontinued. I then contacted six other pharmacies and the same. I am now on Clonazepam 0.25mg and it isn't enough for sleep. I am going through some withdrawals and getting an average of only 3 - 4 hours of sleep. Really upset with 'Big Pharma'."
