Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I'm 17 & I've been on the patch for 4 months now. Before this I had been on the pill for a few years but it started to become inconvenient. The patch is VERY convenient for me. I've tried quite a few birth controls for my heavy and painful periods but nothing has ever worked. The patch hasn't made too much of a difference in that area but my skin is clear & I'm definitely protected from pregnancy. The first two months my period was really bad but it got better. I'm happy with the patch and I recommend it. One downside is the color of it though. I'm African American so my skin is brown and the patch is kind of pink like a Bandaid. No big deal though."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I'm 19, I've been on the patch for almost a year and a half, I've recommended it to quite a few of my friends. ITS THE BEST. The first three months are a bit crazy. Constant nausea, tender breasts, emotional but all these things are bearable and seem to fade away after your body gets used to the patch. Easier to remember to change it. It's so convenient."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I was on Xulane for 3 1/2 years. I had tubal ligation and my surgery was only supposed to be a half hour ended up being an hour and a half. My body was full of adhesions so my doctor could not find my ovaries! I have been dealing with intestinal spasms ever since. Going on 10 months and still on medication to treat them. Xulane caused me weight gain, mood swings and pain where patch was. NOT A GOOD CHOICE!"

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I hadn't been on birth control before the patch but my experience on it has been pretty pleasant. My period is a lot shorter and it comes exactly 3 days after I take my patch off for my week off. The only negative I have found is that I am way more emotional than I have ever been in my life. I cry way more often (when I'm wearing the patch and on my period). Which I find very strange since I had gone from not crying ever, to crying about once a week."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been on the patch for about 9 years going on 10 years. Absolutely love it! It is super convenient, no pregnancies and if you're forgetful like I am it works GREAT! I tried the pill and that made me very nauseous so I decided to give Ortho Evra a try and it was the best decision I've ever made! My breasts grew but that's about the only side effect I experienced. Unfortunately I've been getting a lot of yeast infections recently so I'm going to try the Nuvaring to see if the Ortho patch is what's causing it (highly doubtful). Worth a try though. I highly recommend Ortho Evra."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I was on Ortho Evra for 4 years and absolutely loved it! I had no problems with it up until the last year. I recommend this product 100%, if used like package states. It's very easy to use and very convenient, I mean how easy is it to remember to switch it once a week? Very effective as well! I used it continuously (with no off week) because I had really bad headaches during my period week and loved it at first, until about 6 months later and I started have a lot of horrible cramping and breakthrough bleeding. The cramps were more frequent than the bleeding, but just as annoying. I talked with my doctor who told me I needed to force my body to have a period, so I tried that (took the patch off for a week) and that didn't help. My doctor said that with this medication used continuously there isn't enough estrogen and the body can't handle that sometimes. I am currently using Seasonique, which I haven't had any problems with yet. I wanted to let everyone know of my experience, but that I still recommend the product, just not for continuous use."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "It may be to early for me to review this since I've only been on it for a month, but I thought I'd share my beginning side effects for the people who are curious. So far I haven't gained weight, or had hair loss, spotting, or any of that. I have had some headaches here and there, as well as nausea which when I chew some gum it goes away in no time, and also some moodiness not a big deal though. By what I've gone through from the start of it, I would say I definitely love this medicine. Absolutely recommend it to others."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I was on the pill for about 6 months before I tried the patch and to be honest I wish I went with the patch earlier. Theres no hassle with remembering everyday like you do with pills and so far its really effective!(been on it for 3 months) My only side effects are tender breasts an feeling hot often. Also with the patch my sex drive increased :) I would definately recommend it"

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've had the patch for 3 months after having the Mirena removed. The patch is amazing despite constant breast tenderness. I'm happier and more Chilled out, my partner has noticed too. Best contraception I've ever tried! Highly recommend."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I started the Xulane patch two months ago. I have to say that it has been a great experience so far. I myself read through these reviews before starting the patch and I was terrified of the experience I would have. I have not gained any weight. I have not had migraines or even mild headaches. The patch does not itch nor does it leave a rash or any type of bump. It does leave a residue on the outer ring from where it catches your clothing and collects fuzz. I have not experienced any nausea. It has been smooth sailing. My period is drastically lighter and I don't get ill or experience extreme cramps. I have to say I'm a huge fan of the patch. It has even increased my sex drive, because I feel so comfortable now that I have it."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I'm 17 and have been using the Ortho Evra Patch for about 2 years now, I absolutely love it!! It helped out my periods a lot! Before I was on the Nuvaring and I hated it compared to the patch! It's so easy to remember and easy to apply! It just looks like a nude color band aid, I just apply it to my butt cheek so no one can see it. The first few weeks I had some problems, but after I've never had another problem with it! I highly suggest it! And it definitely prevents pregnancy!"

Zafemy (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been on BC for 8 years, been on Xulane transdermal patch for 6 years. July 2022 I went to pick up my BC and was given Zafemy asked why? Even though my script was for Xulane, was told Xulane is on backorder. 3 months later in October I asked my doctor to specify XULANE. She did. Went to go pick up my BC and it was Zafemy again! Xulane still on backorder per pharmacy. January rolls around and I go to pick up my 3 month script. Zafemy. Again. I have had a horrible experience with this patch, my menstrual cycle is different, I get horrible cramps, and the patches don't stick! I do not feel secure or safe using this patch! I'm in the process of finding a pharmacy who can get Xulane because that's what worked for the past 6 years."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've never used any contraceptive before but when my doctor told me I just needed to change the patch once a week I knew it was the patch for me. I LOVE the side effects! My breast increased in size, my butt did too, my weight is stable and my sex drive is amazing! Some breakouts here and there but not that bad."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 13 years. It's been amazing. No real side effects except for slight mood change before my period is due. My periods are shorter, lighter and I always know when it's coming. No weight gain. My skin is flawless. It's rare I get a pimple and if I do it clears up quickly with no marks. I love this form of birth control and would highly recommend it."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've even on the patch for just over a year now. I like the patch, but there are side effects. Be careful putting the patch near your groin muscles. It can cause blood clot. And it is extremely painful! It happened to me and I'm still in the patch I'm just a lot more careful of where I stick it to. Stick it on your lower back or your bum. Your bum would probably be the bet spot because the patch easily gets stuck on your jeans, shirt, bra, and will come off if you don't notice in time! Overall this birth control is very effective. But remember double the protection, better chances of staying on the safe side."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I loved this birth control. I suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome. On this birth control I lost 60 pounds, and I probably would have continued losing the weight I gained from the syndrome if I didn't stop. Unfortunately, insurances don't like covering this, which is why I had to stop taking it, as I couldn't afford it. I hate the new pill I'm on, and might switch up again. This patch didn't make me depressed (like the pill does), I lost acne quickly, and my hair lessened in growth. The only thing I hated is after you take off the patch you have the square mark from it on you for a couple weeks. I recommend 100%!"

Zafemy (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I tried Zafemy for about 2 months, and during this time period, I was bleeding nonstop. I had headaches from whenever I woke up to whenever I went to sleep. Zafemy even made my chest break out, it was all red with a rash, and I had bad acne. The rash and acne went away eventually. I didn't relate the side effects to the birth control. Both the rashes and acne appeared again so I went to the doctors to see what was going on, and they said it was the birth control that was causing it. I was put on Xulane and I absolutely love it! I have no problems with it, no acne, no weight gain, no rashes nothing! the only side effect is being a little nauseous. but other than that I love this birth control."

Zafemy (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! I would consider these defective. I don’t know how there are good reviews on this. I wanted to try the patch out and unfortunately, these are the ones they gave me. I guess it is not normal for patches not to stick. It took me 2 patches to get one to kind of “stick”. I applied it to clean dry skin, pressed down on it, and it still was not sticking properly. It lifts up almost instantly. I will be switching to another brand seems to me none of the other brands have negative reviews. I hope there is a lawsuit against this company as this could result in an unwanted pregnancy. I feel absolutely no sense of security using this. Thank god I am using it only for my hormone imbalance. These have no adhesive to them at all. The internet says not to secure with a bandaid or tape but that’s what I will have to resort to until I get switched off this horrible excuse of a patch. 3 boxes and they were ALL defective."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 8 years. Took it off 2 years ago to conceive my 2nd child and had no problems whatsoever. It does take 3 months to leave your system so keep that in mind before trying to conceive. After those 3 months... BOOM! We were pregnant! Got right back on it after my 2nd was born and have been good ever since! No side effect, I like the fact that I can control when I get my period by removing the patch the week that I want it or putting on a new patch if I don't want it that week. No weight gain, nothing. A in my book!!"

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I don't like Xulane. How do other girls’ patches not fall off after they shower?!?! I can’t just only shower once a week. and I have to replace it after every time I shower? I don’t know how anyone likes this product. I gave it a 2 because it’s a great idea that we only need to change it once a week instead of taking a pill everyday, maybe work on making it more waterproof and it’ll be the new go to for girls."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "i’ve been on the patch for about 4 months. I haven’t noticed any emotional changes, nor weight gain, but I’ve been spotting throughout using almost every patch. I am not supposed to have a period with the way my doctor set this up for me (taking patches back to back, indefinitely) but I still have them THROUGHOUT using the patch. The first month I bled every single day, then it cleared up for a couple months, now I’m back to bleeding every day. It’s like a mild period, but I’d say it’s more than just spotting. I’m trying to stick with it to see how it plays out, and hoping i will stop bleeding before the 6 month mark."

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've been on the patch for about 5 years now and love it. I never had many problems with it. I didn't gain weight but I typically will get a pimple or 2 the week before my period is supposed to start. I do get a slight skin irritation where I put it on. Only a little itchy and no big deal. I wear mine on my stomach and switch sides to help irritation. I don't think it hurts that bad to take off it's like pulling off a bandaid. I have only had 1 fall off and I was swimming every day for a week when it happened. I do notice I am more emotional (and slightly bitchy) while I'm on my period but I put the new one on and I'm fine. definitely would recommend!"

Ortho Evra (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "The issue with a lot of these reviews is they don't give the patch time to settle. You're giving your body hormones that it isn't used to having excess of so it can take up to 6 months for it to fully settle. I've been on the patch for 8 years and love it. The first 3 months I had headaches, cramps and slight nausea but after that I have had 0 side effects. No other birth control works for me and I would recommend the patch. Please just give it time, it won't be for everyone but 3 weeks, like most of the reviewers have had it for, just isn't long enough."

Xulane (ethinyl estradiol / norelgestromin) for Birth Control "I've used Xulane for 9 years I couldn't do the pills I'd get sick even with the low dose ones. I started to use it for my acne because my acne was super bad, the ones that hurt and you couldn't cover up with makeup.( Xulane helped a lot it cleared my skin so much :) to the point I never had acne anymore. Then of course it has help me not to get prego too. I'm off of it now and trying to get prego. I did conceive a few months after I got off the patch, but I had a miscarriage. I also remember my doctor saying if you were a certain weight that it wouldn’t work I don’t think that’s true because I was over that limit weight and I never got pregnant"

I think my breast are growing and I think it is a downside because I don't want them too. I didn't notice any weight loss or gain. I had spotting which is normal but it is annoying I just suggest using pantyliners"
