Colace (docusate) for Constipation "I've had Crohn's disease practically my entire life. My doctors and I are totally stumped why I have had severe constipation for the last 2 months. I didn't change any of my medications or my eating habits. I have taken Colace 3 times a day, and my stool was still hard stool. With a surprise at the end. A little soft piece at the end that never came out. I guess that was the only piece of Colace that worked. Now, I'm back on it again. With the same constipation, bloating, painful cramping and my ilium is getting worse every day. The Colace does not work for me."

"Gelcaps with 100mg of docusate were prescribed after prostate surgery as a stool softener. I take one docusate gelcap with half of a bran muffin and half of a 6oz can of prune juice after the evening meal, as opposed to any dessert. In the morning, I take the other half of the can of prune juice, pour it into hot coffee and eat the other half of the bran muffin. Works wonders in a few minutes as a stool softener at the expense of the hot coffee which tastes funny and smells awful!"

For Constipation "I get constipation and hard stools from my period almost every single cycle, but this stuff always works super quick. I eat plenty of fiber as is, so more fiber doesn't help, and glycerin suppositories are just uncomfortable, especially when wearing a tampon...!! Docusate always works within 10-15 minutes for me. I always drink it with some milk because I have lactose intolerance; it always clears me right up."

For Constipation "I take five Docusate Sodium 50mg pills every morning at breakfast time, and usually by late afternoon, I have a good, easy-to-pass bowel movement, which is much better than bordering on constipation, which I want to avoid. It works for me."

Colace (docusate) for Constipation "this the worse product I've been told to use. It hasn't helped with bowel movements at all and it was not cheap either. I wouldn't recommend to any one...."
