Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for Narcolepsy "Helps a great deal with daytime sleepiness, which I had all my adult life until Dexedrine. No side effects at 5 to 7.5 mg a day. At 10 mg sometimes anxiety or tension, but not always. No rebound effect or depression if I stop taking it. Not the dangerous drug some people would have you think."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "My daughter is now nine and has been on Dexedrine for about four and a half years. I know about the med from my little brother and it worked for him. My daughters doctors wanted to try all the new stuff, not one worked so once again i said put her on dexedrine. Finaily after about a year they put her on it and she is doing great and on a low dose. So if you have tried the others go old school and use dexedrine it works:)"

For Fatigue "I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have been taking this medicine for about 7 years now. It gave me my life back. I used to be so tired that I couldn't get out of bed or participate in life. The only problem is I have grown tolerant to it, and am at the maximum dosage, so I don't get as much energy from it as I used to. But I couldn't function or live without it."

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for Narcolepsy "I’ve tried sooooo many medications for my narcolepsy with cataplexy and extreme EDS! Nuvigil and Provigil do not work for me. Focalin made me extremely angry and anxious. Ritalin just quit working. Vyvanse did nothing. Sunosi did even less. Adderall worked great but I have a wheat intolerance and the generic I was using caused a major flare up for me. And the list could continue… I discovered Zenzedi and asked my sleep doc about it. She hadn’t heard of it but we gave it a try. After almost two years, I’ve only had to increase my dose once (from 20mg twice daily to 25mg twice daily). This stuff is magical for me. It keeps me awake with very few side effects and no crash. I take my doses about 5-6 hours apart. I’ve always been a runner but this medication and a pandemic have allowed me to run virtually everyday which I believe also helps my EDS. I cannot take the generic version."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I am 39 years old and have been suffering from ADD my whole life. It wasn't until recently I finally figured out what it was. After trying Ritalin which didn't agree with me, and Adderall XR which made me irritable, anti -social and too engaged I read the reviews of this & decided to give it a whirl. I'm only on week 1, but compared to the others I am MUCH more myself with no anxiey! Also, I am shocked at how low of a dose gets the job done. I am on 5mg once daily around noon. You may think you need more but start low & see how much changes right before your very eyes. You get plenty done and still wind down after 4 hours. I sleep great and my appetite is only affected the first 3 hours. I didn't give it a 10 b/c of some memory issues."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "It was a pain to get my Dexedrine prescription filled because most pharmacies don't carry it and they have to order it. Compared to Adderall, Dexedrine is very calming since there's no levoamphetamine in the mix, just pure dextroamphetamine. Unfortunately, I was focusing on things that I wanted to do, instead of the things I had to do (and the what I worked on really made a difference). I would like to give it another try just to compare it to Adderall again."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I have ADHD as well as binge eating. This helps me to not make impulsive decisions and I really can think a lot clearer. It really does increase the dopamine because I no longer have that intense urge to eat junk food and buy nice clothes. I can just focus better and I am not procrastinating everything. I used to procrastinate basic tasks like showering or brushing my teeth. It feels so good knowing I'm not lazy but just neurodivergent. And I'm so grateful for this medication. I'm on 10mg twice a day."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "By far the best medication I have tried for ADHD. It is great for someone who also social anxiety or anxiety in general. With Ritalin I had many negative side effects one of which is anxiety. Dexedrine is great. I do not even need to take my clonazepam (Klonopin) during the day because Dexedrine is so smooth."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for Drowsiness "There no material in side effects list that you may have a hard time with Novocaine. My dentist spent hours trying to figure out why he could not get me numb before he made the connection. Be forewarned that this is a potential problem. This drug all in all has improved the quality of my life drastically. 7 years and topped at 90 mg. I hit tolerance a long time ago, but it still does what it was designed to do. I am not looking for a high, I am looking for a life with alertness and this medicine has given me that. I personally trust this older proven medication. "

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I began treatment for bipolar 2 years ago. It has been successful. I still had severe brain fog, impatience, and lethargy though. Psych dr diagnosed ADHD on top of bipolar. Tried Vyvanse, Ritalin, and Dexedrine. Dex won for me. 10mg in am and 5 at lunch and dinner. Much more patient and clear-headed."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Works well for my ADD but DON'T ever mix with alcohol! I am an alcoholic who comes from a alcoholic background handed down several generations of my family tree. I take my Dex. as prescribed (5 mg 3x daily, a small dose by choice compared to 45 mg 3x daily when I was younger and not in charge of my own health needs) But when I binge drank I would always mix the alcohol with Dex. up to 50 mg a night so I could keep drinking. Lost many friends, wife, and the the respect of too many due to my actions, aggressions, combativeness stances and so on. Alcoholics beware. I'm sober now and take it one day at a time. I still take my Dex. but ONLY as prescribed. I am 35 and have taken it since age 12."

For Fatigue "Have been using Aurobindo generic immediate release Dextroamphetamine sulfate 5mg tabs, 2 in am, for 10 months. Worked beautifully, more focus, more energy, more motivation to accomplish tasks. No noted side effects. Last refill June 2020, was a completely different experience. Seven days of early morning nightmares, no energy, fatigue, felt terrible. Reported to physician, pharmacist and to FDA. Looking for an independent lab to get this tested and find out what happened. Pharmacy tells me that the other manufacturers of this generic drug are on back order and not currently available in my region in the US. Quality of life has taken a huge hit without this medication."

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "This stuff makes you feel like the king of the world! Unfortunately, that euphoria after 5 hours turns to dysphoria and the crying starts. Horrible thoughts that I'm a failure and no way to calm down. There should be an extended version of this drug because that 5 hour comedown is horrible."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "My experience is limited since I have only been on this medication for a few days. I am a medical resident, diagnosed with ADHD at 32. Got sick and tired of my mediocre performance at work. Tried Straterra, Viibryd and Wellbutrin, nothing worked. Just started on Dexedrine 5mg 2-3 times a day. My first day on it, I studied all day until midnight. I was so motivated, I felt great, on top of the world, I was so driven. I noticed an immediate difference in my performance at work and it made me a nicer, less cynical. The bad thing was insomnia, teeth clenching, some nausea, decreased appetite and the drop in my mood once it wore off. I am worried about intolerance which is driving up my anxiety level. "

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "When I was 12 years old. I woke up at 2 in the morning to blindingly agonizing pain, bad enough that I found myself screaming at the top of my lungs. But when I tried to get out of bed I found my strength fail me and plummeted to the ground hitting my head on my night table. My parents found me and brought me to the hospital. I only found out years later when reading a list of side effects and overdose symptoms just how harmful this drug is. The word limit doesn't allow me to even scratch the surface. I will say that it has left serious physiological scars that decades later have still not healed. I cannot deny that it did help me pay attention in class. But I would still advise any parent that loves their child to STAY CLEAR!"

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "The generic for this med didn't work at all, however the name brand (for some reason) is amazing! It has changed my life after so many other meds have failed. I am able to study, take notes, and remember what I've read now. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is because I am having some issues with insomnia. I'm sure that is related to the timing and strength of my last dose of the day however, and will adjusted. It can be expensive, however after trying everything else and nothing else working, I would rather pay for this than deal with awful symptoms all day."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I have been on about 100 mg. of dexedrine for over 20 years and it always worked great until a few years ago, when my drug company stopped sending me the TEVA generic. I never had problems with generics before but the Activis brand did nothing for me. I was told that TEVA was made by the same drug manufacturer that makes the name brand so I payed extra for the name brand and that does not appear to be working either. I have been told that TEVA no longer makes dexedrine so I am not sure what I should do. Also, I was told that the FDA no longer allows doses over 60 mg. but I am sure that is true. It could be my insurance company does not want to pay for more than a standard dose."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Been on it for 21 years being diagnosed at 25. First thing...if your a man and your not getting your significant other pregnant....WATCH OUT!! They can finish the swimmers. Being on same 50 mg can somedays be fine or cause me to clench my teeth. It depends on proper eating and stress reduction. They used to give me huge energy to start but now it's more focusability than anything. Don't get me wrong...these are not a cure for stopping from losing your keys."

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "When it first came on the market, I tried it and it was great. Way better than Adderall. Super focused. Best ADHD drug I ever tried. Then I lost insurance and couldn't be on it for a while and finally used their coupon program and tried Zenzedi years later and that spark was gone. Same name brand but no longer worked at all and I ultimately had to go back to Adderall."

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I take the 30s, and the name brand and generic are the exact same pill from the same production lines as the name brand. I was told by Azure Pharmaceuticals. The difference in cost per pill is 8 dollars vs 7 for the generic. I have had to take the 15s due to the 30s being out of stock and the 15 mg is the exact same pill, there is no difference at all. So I'm not sure why people say they are different. It's the most effective dose for me but requires taking them four times a day due to me being a rapid metabolizer of amphetamine-based stimulants. I was on the original brand name Dexedrine until it was discontinued in 2006 by GlaxoSmithKline. This isn't quite as helpful as Dexedrine 5 mg tabs used to be, but a close second."

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I was on zenzedi for about 6 months. I loved it! I have only tried Ritalin for my ADD and it made me psychotic, and once I stopped taking it I was too scared to take anything else. Well 10 years later, and sick of my ADD, I was prescribed this medication and it worked! I also had no beginning side effects. The only complaint I have is how quickly it wore off, but it could be my own metabolism and anyone else could be different. However, due to my new insurance I am switching to Adderall XR, I'll write an comparison opinion when I begin taking it."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for Narcolepsy "Dexedrine is great, aside from the increased anxiety. I currently take 90mg daily - both the 5mg tabs and the 15mg spansules. I require two 20mins naps/day, but will still have sleep attacks if I'm inactive. It may not sound overly great but without Dexedrine I'd never leave my bed/couch, as I fall asleep every 10 mins. So essentially, it does a world of difference."

Zenzedi (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Have gone from Adderall to Vyvanse to Dextroamphetamine IR and after 6 months on this, I can say it is by far the best. Same cost as the generic for the same quantity with my insurance and I like the higher dosages since I take 40mg/day. It has the consistency of Vyvanse with the duration of IR tablets."

For Sexual Dysfunction, SSRI Induced "I was diagnosed with ADHD in my sixties. Dex has helped me focus on work and feel energised. It has adversely effected my libido. My interest in sex is still high but the urge disappears when on the dex. If I want to have sex, I need to stay off the dex for a day or 2. An understanding partner really helps a man and the relationship deal with this stuff. I need to reassure her that it is the drug and not her deisirability."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I have struggled with ADD for years and was put on a moderate dosage of ritalin in high school. But it gave me anxiety like you wouldn't believe. I ignored my ADD after high school and started dexedrine in college. What a difference! It helps me to focus much better and give me the energy to finish what I start. My procrastination has never been lower. I only give it a 9 because I sometimes need to make myself focus when the meds are an hour or two from wearing off."
