I already have anxiety problems I have very bad panic attacks. I was wondering if taking the Z pak if it would cause my anxiety ( panic attacks) to start up again?
Zithromax - While taking the Z pak does it cause bad anxiety?

Hi Sam, the first time I took Zithromax, I had terrible panic attacks. But now that I know it causes them, I am prepared when I take it, and I try to make sure I am prepared mentally before I take it. They won't last long though, and if you need the Zithromax to get over an infection, go for it, and be strong. You can do it! StarGlitter

Thank you!! I took the first 2 pills about 2 hours ago and now having the side effects of stomach pain and crams.

Nervous system side effects have included headache, somnolence, vertigo, and dizziness in approximately 1% of patients. Hearing disturbances including hearing loss, deafness, and/or tinnitus have been reported rarely. Paresthesia, convulsions, hyperactivity, nervousness, agitation, and syncope have been reported during postmarketing experience.
Psychiatric side effects have included aggressive reaction and anxiety during postmarketing experience.

Please remember they are possible side effects, some people get them (not all) and some do not, I take a few strong meds and have never experienced any s. effects, so do not over worry. You asked a Q and I gave you a straight answer, plain and simple.

Thank you! A few months back I was put on bactrim and I had a bad allergic reaction to it which caused me to have anxiety issues ( panic attacks). I went to my doctor and found out I am allergic to Sulfa drug. So I was curious if the Z pak would strike up my anxiety. I took my first 2 pills of the Z pak about 2 hours ago and I am now suffering from stomach pains/ cramps.
