I have been prescribes Xanax for a torn rotator cuff injury, just to help me to relax and not bind it up anymore involuntarily. So your comment about it not being prescribed for anything but anti anxiety is not just moot, it is ignorant and borderline belligerent. We all have mouths, don't use your butthole.

it's also used under the name alprazolam to treat muscles spasms cramps. i have a torn muscle and tendon and it works and was prescribed for that. my doctor keeps insisting it's for anxiety and doesn't even realize it's used to treat other conditions.

@ightor chill bro XD you having to say all of that was not necessary. Xanax is usually perscriped for anxiety yes. Although helpful for muscles and sleep and so on. Xans are primarily perscriped for anxiety. Not saying they can’t be for other things. Just each drug has a main use for it. Like for example Oxtellar is primarily for people who have seizures and such. I was prescribed them for no polar disorder. Main use is for seizures but occasionally it’s not.

Xanax is strictly an anti-anxiety med. However Valium is a very good benzo for muscle relaxation as well as an anti-anxiety med. Xanax has a short half-life of 4 hours it is an excellent anti-anxiety med. A better benzo for sleep is Temazepam (a benzo-brand name Restoril) which is designed for sleep with no hang-over effect.
