I just had my 22 birthday last night and I am going to out to celebrate with friends. I would love to drink and have fun, but I am not sure if it would mess up the infusion procedure. Please help A.S.A.P.! Thanks
Would drinking the night before my Remicade infusion mess up the procedure?

I'd be real careful about alcohol consumption at anytime while receiving infusions of Remicade. Remicade is eliminated through the liver and a night of drinking just before an infusion just might make it that much harder for your liver to function and do it's job. I would definitely check with your health care provider, infusion nurse, and or a pharmacist just to make sure BEFORE you go out and celebrate. I wanted to get a tattoo and was told by my infusion nurse the safest time was half way between infusions--three weeks as I have infusions every six weeks--so I know that he/she will work with you to find the safest time-and way-for you to do or get what you want within reason. Wish you good health and happy birthday!
That would be something you need to ask your doctor sweetie. If you think about it though and this is just what i would do. If you have your surgery in the afternoon and not early in the morning which you probably do alcohol is only traceble in the system for 8 hours by that time you are sober. So if you are having surgery later in the evening i dont see the problem.
