The description of this pill number gets confusing as the actual number is S500, not 5500. The S looks a lot like the 5, however the top of letter is round and the number is straight. This pill is Acetaminophen 500 for body aches and to reduce fever.

Pill with imprint S 500 is White, Oval and has been identified as Acetaminophen 500 mg. It is supplied by Himprit Pharmachem PVT LTD.
Acetaminophen is used in the treatment of sciatica; muscle pain; eustachian tube dysfunction; pain; fever and belongs to the drug class miscellaneous analgesics. Risk cannot be ruled out during pregnancy. Acetaminophen 500 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

I have this same pill but I no longer have the bottle. I think is it acetaminophen 500 mg. But I am not POSITIVE.

i just found your question because i was searching the exact same thing - couldn't find it either - then... went to my medicine bin in the bathroom - to see what i could find - it's 500mg acetaminophen - generic version i got from wal mart!!!
i was so concerned - that I actually needed to take if afterward to get rid of my headache!! Hope this helps!!

Googled it and this was found: KOS 500
Generic Name: niacin
Pill imprint KOS 500 has been identified as Niaspan ER 500 mg.
is used in the treatment of high cholesterol; niacin deficiency; hyperlipoproteinemia type v, elevated chylomicrons vldl; hyperlipoproteinemia; hyperlipoproteinemia type iv, elevated vldl (and more), and belongs to the drug classes miscellaneous antihyperlipidemic agents, vitamins. Risk cannot be ruled out during pregnancy.
500 mg is not subject to the Controlled Substances Act.

Thats all I could find also. I'm not sure its the same thing though. This has nothing but "S500" all on one side and nothing on the other. Thank you for your help though.
