... take it as it is too large for me to swallow... I am also on Amoxicillian for a upper respiratory infection and same thing - I have to crush up both pills and take with juice or yogurt
What is the danger in crushing a mucinex pill and drinking it with juice? it is the only way I can?

if I am not having any side effects so far, then is it okay? Wish they would make the pills smaller, would be okay swallowing 2 smaller pills instead...

I do this all the time. So far I have not had any adverse side effects though it will not last the full 12 hours and you should not take another until 12 hours is up.
The liquid is gross so I completely relate.
Do not crush or chew this medication. Doing so can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Also, do not split the tablets unless they have a score line and your doctor or pharmacist tells you to do so. Swallow the whole or split tablet without crushing or chewing.
Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Fluids will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
Take care.-
