I was supposed to take .25 for 4 weeks
And I took 0.5 instead. I've only been on it for one week and had no side effects whatsoever. Have I messed up really bad? What will happen? Can I go back to 25 after this or not?
What will happen? I have I totally messed up. I just took the wrong dosage of Ozempic weeks ahead?

I took 1.0 my first time with Ozempic because that was what the label directions said when I picked up the pen the first time. That first week was one that was, for all practical purposes, lost to me. I couldn’t leave my house because I was really, really sick. I lost 10 pounds in that one week! It was excruciating, but zero to 1.0 can do that. I’ve been fortunate to keep those 10 pounds off, but it was a painful way to lose them.
I say all that to say this - here is what I can tell you - the next week, on my 1 mg pen, I did the number of clicks to ONLY get the first dosage, the correct one, of .25, and I have done fine. No side effects! Now I’m up to .5 after three weeks of .25 and that dreadful first week of 1.0, and all seems well. I have no discomfort at all.
If you tolerated the .5 dose well, you can probably continue it, but it might be best for your body to do the .25 for three weeks first. After that, take .5 as directed and then the 1.0.
The best idea would be to contact your physician. I did. However, because you had no side effects from the .5, that may be ok. I’d check with your doctor to be safe.
Good luck no matter what you decide.
Libby,
Since you're not feeling any hypoglycemic symptoms you're probably just fine. The maximum dosage is 2mg once a week so you haven't overdosed.
Talk to your doctor and explain what happened. They might want to check your glucose levels on the higher dose. Although done earlier than recommended you may find that you would have needed an increase anyway.
Give your doctor a call or if they're not available there's usually another doctor on call.

Thank you. I have only been on it for 1 week. This was going to be my 2nd dose. I will hook up with my doctor on Monday. I have type 2 diabetes. I took it at 1:30 pm.
