I’m taking amlodipine 5 mg and losartan 100mg in the morning and at nighttime atenolol 50 mg at night. However i’m having lightheadedness and dizziness usually in the morning! Should I take amlodipine or losartan at night with the atenolol?
What can be causing me dizziness?

Interactions between your drugs
Moderate
atenolol amLODIPine
Applies to: atenolol, amlodipine
Atenolol and amLODIPine may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure and heart rate. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart beat. These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption. Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs.
Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

You may take atenolol with or without food, but take it the same way every time. Avoid consumption of large amounts of orange juice to prevent any changes in your atenolol levels. Orange juice could decrease the effectiveness of atenolol.

losartan food
Applies to: losartan
If you are taking losartan you should avoid potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements without first talking to your doctor. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. High levels of potassium can cause weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these symptoms.
In some patients grapefruits and grapefruit juice may decrease the efficacy of losartan. Grapefruits and grapefruit juice should be avoided if an interaction is suspected. Orange juice is not expected to interact.

I take my 100 mg broken up into 2-3 pieces at various times during the day. I never told drs I was doing this but 100 is far too much all at once for me and DOES make me dizzy. They say you need Losartan more during the day cuz BP drops in the night. Usually they tell you to try Losartan first at night so you get used to the dizziness or at least are aware. Then switch to day. Also when starting out I took 100 all at night and then drank orange juice in the am. Maybe don’t do that. I had terrible chest pain I guess cuz it was too much potassium in my blood.) No one told me to be aware of that issue. Talk to your dr about breaking the pill up because I’m not a medical professional.
You must consult with your Dr. first, do not self medicate.
