What would a severe problem look like if used in this manner? is this a poison control issue?
Salicylic acid is a keratolytic (peeling agent). It causes skin shedding.
If salicylic acid is applied to broken skin it will kill the skin, creating more exposed raw skin and a bigger wound. This wound is at risk of developing an infection.
