He weighs 103lbs and was told to take 7 tablets every 12 hours. He is a Great Dane, 1 year old and had a neuter surgery. I’m kinda freaking out. Someone mentioned to me that was WAY too much and that I should induce vomiting. I gave him one dose of 7 pills 30 minutes ago?
My vet prescribed my dog tramadol 50mg. Is this dose too much?

The usual dosage of tramadol to treat pain in dogs is 0.45 to 1.8 mg per pound of body weight given every 8 to 12 hours. I hope your puppy is okay now and that you checked somewhere else about this dosage. That was too much. My vet prescribed 100 mg for my 66 lb dog but I've just been giving her 50 mg. and she has done well. I used to take tramadol and 50 mg was good for me and I weight 130. Although each case could be different.
I think your vet knows what he or she is doing if your scared you should call our vet and address your concerns about the dosage and what side affects to watch for I'm sure they will ease your stress I'm Shure the milligram of the medication is what's recommended for the size of your animal hope my answer helps prayers
