The emergency contraceptive pill you have taken is the levonorgestrel emergency contraceptive pill. The earlier you take this pill, the more effective it is. If taken within the first 24 hours and you are within the recommended weight range it is 95% effective but effectiveness reduces to only being 58% effective if taken 49 to 72 hours after the incident.
As you are just outside the 72 hour time frame I suggest you see your doctor as you are at risk of becoming pregnant.
An alternative method of emergency contraception is to have an IUCD (coil) inserted by a doctor or nurse. This can be done up to five days after unprotected sex. It has the advantage of providing ongoing contraception and is also more effective than taking hormone tablets (it is almost 100% effective).

It is kind of a matter of opinion, but I dont recommend women who have never had children get an IUD. They have a higher incidence of causing pelvic inflammatory conditions and uterine scarring. It can be a good choice for women who have had at least one child though. I know not all Drs agree with this but it is the way I was taught. Just my thoughts.
I had unprotected sex Saturday night and took plan b Tuesday evening can I still be pregnant?
Sorry to say that yes, you still could be. Plan b and Next Choice are not 100% effective and if you were already impregnanted when you took the pills they wont terminate an existing pregnancy (they wont hurt the fetus however). It would have been best if you had taken the emergency contraceptive within 72 hours of the first episode of unprotected sex, so on Sunday. Studies have shown that they can still be effective up to 5 days after, but it is still best to take them asap and best within that 72 hour window. Remember that these emergency contraceptives can really throw off your cycle, so if you are late, dont panic just yet. If you miss two cycles in a row then you should test for pregnancy. If you manage to dodge the pregnancy bullet this time, you need to get yourself some reliable birth control if you are going to be sexually active. That way you dont have to stress so much.
Condoms are easiest to obtain but you might consider making an appt with the gynecologist or local family planning clinic and discuss your other options, like birth control pills, Depo-Provera or a diaphram. Good Luck!
This the same thing with mi. Help mi out?
