I will be starting it for anxiety and secondary insomnia. I don't want to take at bedtime and have it keep me up... but I hear that it can make most people drowsy. I'm hoping to poll actual users. I was thinking... maybe start in the morning until through start up period, then move to bed based on response?
What time of day do you take your Lexapro?

I take my dosage in the morning (10 mg). I've been using Lexapro for about 5 years now (off and on) and never have had the drowsiness others might have reported. But as other commenters have said side effects really do vary from person to person. I know if I take it at bedtime it can cause some insomnia. Good luck!
I would say morning as I am an insomniac and it would keep me awake. Give it a try in the morning and if you get drowsy take it at bedtime. I hope it works out for you. Good luck!

I'm happy for you that your starting Lexapro !! It changed my life for the better within the first two weeks I was taking it.
I take mine at night but I don't see why you couldn't take it in the morning. Lexapro never made me sleepy at all, not even a little drowsy but I am sure it is different for people.
My thinking when I started it was that if I took it at night and I had side effects I would hopefully sleep thru them and be ok by morning.
I have never had any side effect at all from it though, well not that I know of except that if I miss a dose I know it because I get lightheaded.
No matter what time you choose to take it I sure hope you get great results like I have. Best to you.
Maybe I should have worded it as... do you take it upon awakening, or reserve it for closer to your bedtime?
Differs for everyone as the meds affects them differently, different lifestyles, wake times, bed times, general health etc. etc., , for me it was Noon.
