As jak said you should have no problem with stopping. But you should also consult with your doctor about the side effects you probably experienced and possibly other treatment options because the medication was prescribed for a reason.
If you have only taken one 50mg tablet you should be OK. I would definitely tell your doctor that you decided not to continue taking the medication just to be safe. Good luck.
