Has anyone else experienced this? I know this may seem trivial compared to stroke or hemorrhaging but it is very disruptive and painful. Taking zantac . Helps for a little while then it's back. I have been on xarelto for two months. Will this eventually go away?
I'm taking xarelto for occasional afib. Have had gerd day and night since taking this drug?

I started taking xarelto in January and yes GERD was terrible hit me everyday no relief! Finally got off xarelto in April after seeing a Gastroenterologist went on a Fodmap and last three weeks I now can eat without the acid! No acid reducer worked! Hope this helps
I started taking Xarelto at the beginning of October 2018. Within two weeks I had an upset stomach and nausea. My voice also became hoarse. Woke up one day with the worst sore throat I have ever had. Could barely swallow and nothing helped. General practitioner sent me to GI docs who couldn't figure out what was wrong. Was scheduled for a colonoscopy and Upper endoscopy. Started coughing and my voice got worse. Felt horrible because I had pneumonia. Was not getting better even on antibiotics, inhalers, and cough meds. My throat got worse. Finally went to an ENT in Mid November ... diagnosed with LPR -Laryngopharyngeal reflux. It was caused - at least three doctors believe this - by Xarelto. Switched meds and was better in a couple of weeks.
Yep, same here. I had very rare instances of nighttime reflux in the past, usually having to do with too many onions, but as soon as I began taking Xarelto it came on like a terror. Every single night, and that was even though I was taking a proton pump inhibitor (Nexium). I asked the doctor to switch me to Pradaxa and had no problems after that.
I also have heartburn/gerd every day since on Xarelto. I finally have an appointment with a specialist since it can't be healthy to have getd all day for weeks! Sometimes it gets so bad I can't breath :( I have been eating chicken and quinoa for 2 weeks now and even that gives me heartburn sometimes! They suggest to eat small meals every 2 hours! Did you try that yet?
My gerd got worse from the time I started taking xarelto. I am bloated and always burping.
I had gerd before starting xarelto, but I also have it constantly!
