Started my first tablet of escitalopram and with in half hour I was hit with a few side affects which scared me.. All day I felt like a zombie.. I know I've still got a long way to come but has anyone took them before bed because I can't be dealing with feeling like that off a day time? X

As Wildcat mentioned, side effects do subside with a week or so, and also I agree with you taking your medication at the same time everyday for it to be effective.
Just wanted to add that if you come across a very common side effect of Escitalopram which is somnolence that affects up to 13% of people being treated with this antidepressant, to take it at night on the other hand if you experience insomnia which is also a very common side effect that affects up to 14% of people being treated with Escitalopram, to take it in the morning.
Hi, Hanc!
It doesn't matter when you take the medication as long as you take it at the same time every day. Try taking it at bedtime and see if it works better for you.
The good news is that side effects generally subside over a few days to a week or so and lessen each day.
Best regards,
Thank you Wildcatvet for your reply. Appreciate it.
Hi there don't know if this will help you. I was on this for 3wks and felt the emotional blunting too much to bear feeling like a robot or zombie no feelings what so ever, so I cut down to 5mg for a week then came off them. My normal feelings came back about 2/3 into the 4th wk. I won't ever touch another SSRI again in my life.
