You should call your dr. You can't lower your bp that much for the sake of your pulse. I'd call him first thing in the morning.
My husband rechecked it it was 110/50 and every time I see my doctor bp goes sky high 160/80 due to my panic disorder! this all just scares me
I agree you should call your doctor in the morning. I have also had this same problem with Atenolol and my doc cut my daily dose in half and that helped!
Thank you both for input I do have a question plusku Was you taking 25 mg daily ? and when was you experiencing dizziness during the day or night ? And when your doctor cut the dose in half did you still experience dizziness or not as much ? And did you notice your heart rate increasing or bp? My heart rate was going up to 120 at times and flip flopping since I been on atenolol it's been below 80 I am afraid it will start to increase again that's terrifying too Thanks again for the feed back do appreciate it
Yes I was on 25mg which was working fine until I swiched to a different antidepressant that also had a sedative effect and my bp and pulse started going too low and causing the dizziness during the daytime. The decrease in the Atenolol helped to even it all out and stopped the dizziness.
Ok thanks again for input I am seeing my doctor tomorrow
I take 50mg Atenolol every day and also found myself feeling dizzy and not well in the beginning, so my doctor suggested I cut the tablet in half and take in the morning and the other half late afternoon. It worked out fine, and still does, 10 years later.
Can you check your bp at home, when you're relaxed? Whenever the doc took mine it rocketed, I would panic-"fear of the white coat syndrome". Good luck.
