My mother in law just gave some SYNTHROID that is expiring on December and January 2014 and I wanted to know how long after the due date is SYNTHROID effective?
Can I take SYNTHROID past it's expiration date?

Are you looking at the date the prescription expires? If so, look at the date the prescription was filled and go one year from the date filled label. If this actually says the pills expire a year from now for freshness, this is 2013 and no problem.
You can call the pharmacy and ask if they are still good. However, you should know that it is against the law to take someone else's prescription. Why isn't she taking hers?
The expiration isn't a warning that in a few months you won't be able to use it. its a statement that says I'm dead get rid of me on that date.
