I was taking codeine for 4 years. I initially started taking it for gallstones, but after my surgery, I found I was dependent on it. I soon became very addicted taking 22 tablets at a time (30mg one’s) 3-4 times a day. I was switched over to buprenorphine started on a low dose but settled on 24mg daily. I felt OK at first but now 3 months in I’m sweating so badly worse every day it was night sweats at first but now it’s all day every day! At night I’m lying naked on top of my quilt with 2 fans bull blast pointing at me from 2 angles. I have told my key worker, who says this is not a side effect of the meds and to see my doctor, but after taking a box of the medication home and reading through the leaflet inside, it appears it is a common side effect, so I don’t understand why they lied to me and told me it’s not the medication when it has to be! What can I do to stop this as it’s getting so bad I have sweat running down my face while doing the morning school run and it’s not even hot!!
Sweating so badly on buprenorphine?

"Common (10% or more of users): Sweating (up to 13%)"
I doubt that anyone intended to lie to you... because it's a relatively rare side effect affecting only 13% or less of users they may not have been aware of it. That may be inexcusable because anyone who read the literature should know it.
You can't go on like this! If you can't get your health care provider to listen to your symptoms could you find a different one? There are medicated remedies and certain drugs that could help.
Regards and good luck!
I feel very badly for you I am on buprenorphine following withdrawal from a very high dose of oxycontin and oxycodone my Dr went thru a course in administration and prescribing buprenorphine he would not start me on the buprenorphine until I was in complete withdrawal from the opioids I was taking it is so hard in a forum like this to try to tell you what to do because buprenorphine can cause sweating it can also lead to other issues like seratonin concerns it sounds like you really need to get back to your Dr and let him know the problems you are having and let him know the trouble this is causing you just to perform routine daily activities of living your dose of codeine was so high and now this it sounds like to me you need additional support from your doctorI can only imagine how this is affecting your life and truly hope you get some help with it best of luck
