I had esophagus cancer surgery 4 years ago. I was prescribed Nexium 40mg twice per day. Last month my ins company switched me to Esomeprazole Mag DR 40 mg once per day. I understood there was no generic for Nexium.

Can Prozac be taken out of the capsule and given to a patient without any adverse reaction? A Family member empties his capsule and swallows the granulars straight with water but then complains of a burning sensation. Can damage be done by not using the capsule it came in?
