Will Z Pak help a diverticulitis infection?

I have taken Flagyl in the past, however it upsets my digestion system. I seem to tolerate Z Pak well.

I get red flushness of skin from chest to face & hot before a diverticulitis attack - anyone else?

A more powerful symptom of attack is of course the pain, but I get red and my boss says, "You're getting an attack aren't you?"

Why are Flagyl and Levaquin both perscirbed at the same time to treat diverticulitis?
