Ok so I am three weeks xanax clean. After being on them fifteen years I didn't think I could do. It was a little bit of a struggle. But I wanted to ask if anyone knows or has experienced elevations in their blood pressurs when stopping them now mind you I got put on klonopin instead. I asked my dr she said it was normal it would take time for my body to adjust. I just wanted you guys experiences and opinions. Sometimes it gets as high as 140/93 . I just don't want to be walking around in danger the drs seem to act its ok. At other times my bp is normal. I am a hypochondriac so its a little scary too me any insight would be great

BP is up as high as 180. Also, very lightheaded, foggy and weak. Will be going off Xanax altogether. Hopefully, all will go away. According to my cardiologist, Xanax can cause dementia.
Glad to hear that you are now 3 weeks! I did suffer small BP spikes, but I learned it takes TIME for you body to get it's natural chemistry back. If your DR is monitoring... this too shall pass. I am 54 days benzo free now.
Your body should stabilize. It makes a difference what time of day you take your bp, what you were doing etc. 140/93 isn't too bad if it happens only once in a while and you've been stressing about things. The best way to take your bp is to sit quietly for about 10 min then take it.
