After taking the tablet for 9 days I stopped due to the side effects. Whilst taking the tablets I experienced many side effects such as shaking in my hands, I also had a burning sensation in my stomach, arms, legs and chest. However, after I stopped I experienced pins and needles on the left side of my face and neck. I also felt this tingling feeling on my left arm and my legs. I also am experiencing hot flushes.
Sertraline - Is pins and needles a side effect of setraline?

Hi, Lina!
From the literature on sertraline and most other antidepressant/anxiolytics:
"Nervous System
Common (1% to 10% of users): Paresthesia, tremor"
"Cardiovascular
Common (1% to 10% of users): Hot flushes"
"Paresthesia
an abnormal sensation, typically tingling or pricking (“pins and needles”)"
"Side effects have been reported to be generally mild and transient. They are most common during the first 2 weeks of treatment and decrease in intensity and frequency with continued treatment. They generally do not lead to treatment cessation."
Hi Lina, thanks for your question. IT looks like I have developed the similar allergic reaction on sertraline after two weeks of taking it. Not a pleasent feeling, “pins and needles” hands, feet and left side of the neck/back in my case.
Yes.
Less common:
Agitation, anxiety, or nervousness
bladder pain
--- burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings---
changes in vision
cloudy urine
constipation
difficult, burning, or painful urination
flushing or redness of the skin, with feeling of warmth or heat
frequent urge to urinate
increased appetite
pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
stuffy or runny nose
If the side effects do not subside in a week or 2, you must inform your Dr.
