For the last week my brain has been slowly filling up with serotonin and feels like it is on the cusp of changing for the better. It’s so tantalisingly close but then slips away again. I’ve tried increasing dose previously and I get too high/speedy but if I lower the dose the anxiety/low mood kicks in. Anyone else experience this. Just trying to persevere but so frustrating.

Yes, this is my experience. I feel much better than I did last December when I rolled up at my doctors office a blubbering mess. I still have good and bad days but the bad isn’t as bad as it was prior to medication. I am stable enough that I can do the self care that I need to do in order to continue to heal.
I wish there was a pill that could take away all the fear, sadness and anxiety of life but even the strongest of personalities don’t live like that. They probably just manage it better. And that is what sertraline does for me, it helps me manage life better. But I still have to put in some effort!
It is entirely possible that your dose isn’t the right amount just yet, give it at least 6-8 weeks before talking with your doctor. From my experience it takes at least that long before it reaches a therapeutic level.
