Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride or Prion was just recently added as a schedule drug in California for the control of urinary incontinence in dogs. It's also a schedule drug in several other states.
What schedule is Prion (phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride), a veterinary drug in CA?

Answers
The correct spelling is Proin.
In Canada Proin is classified as Schedule I (prescription).

Schedule I medicines require a prescription for sale; are provided to the public by a pharmacist following diagnosis and professional intervention; and are controlled in a regulated environment as defined by provincial pharmacy legislation.
Thank you for your answer. Sorry for the typo, I really do know the correct spelling. I think schedule I is a little severe but you know Canada. There are four other states besides California that have made this a controlled substance, California is the latest. I think it should be banned though, dogs shouldn't be taking it either since we often put them on hypertensive drugs simultaneously.
